Well shit, I ain't making progress on my new website anytime soon. Fucking hard to find a good webmaster...
I wanted to introduce my new bass in a big display as a production process on the new website. But the site isn't ready yet, and I've already played the Thorbass in two gigs.
I was feeling the need for something new and I found right here on my forum...and I want to thank 'genocide roach' for indirectly introducing me to Karl Thorkildsen of Thorbass...some links for some luthiers and I pursued them and fell in love with the Mjollnir model from Thor. Contacted Karl, who was amazingly cool and easy to work with, and started the decision process for the new bass. I got to choose not only the wood but the grain patterns of each type of wood. Even the electronics and color and minute details were my choice. Of course I don't know what the hell I'm doing, so Karl was the final voice of reason for what went into the build.
It's an awesome bass, extremely well made, sonically dominant, and unbelievably beautiful. For the long thread on the Talk Bass forum, where you can see from the blocks of wood to the carving, cutting, and glueing together of everything...complete with comments along the way...go to: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=402649
Who knows when I'll get my website redone...but here's some photos from the same gig. Mange Takk Son of Magni, bare bra...!
