Steven Slate Drums version 4 - questions and suggestions

Nah, it's not Reaper. Like you said, I use Reaper and I don't have the slow down problems. My pc also has 4 gigs of RAM and a quad core CPU though. I made sure to get a powerful system when I got into this so that I wouldn't have any problems like that, and I don't.... haven't really ever any problems like that with ANY plug-ins... haha

I'm glad there will be more toms in the new stuff. I think anything over 4 is just bonus, but I'm glad to have atleast 4.

well, i didn't cheap out on the machine either - back when i got it the e8400 was the shit & quadcores were not as common as they are nowadays, plus i don't get any problems whatsoever with other plugins. still, interesting to see that you're running SSD with reaper just fine - what version of the kontakt player are you using?

Thanks for containing wav's with trigger :)
i really hope the whole package will be affordable ^^

so trigger WILL include the wav files? thats something atleast. i have no problems moving from drumagog/aptrigga too trigger, as it looks like alot more powerful program. :)

thank god for that, for a second there i thought that i would have to purchase trigger and ssd platinum just to use the samples, sweet i think this is a good move then slate.

Whatever the newest version is for SSD on Native Instrument's site. Kontakt Player 3.5, I think?

How much RAM do you have? If only 2 gigs or less, you should add some. Memory is pretty cheap nowadays.

4 gb :) as i said the pc is pretty good, and i don't have any problems with other plugins.

i'm still on 3.0 though, maybe 3.5 would fix it. i had the same issues with 2.0 btw. i only haven't upgraded to 3.5 yet as i'll have to go through all the service center shit again, iirc.

and there's the problem. 3.0 had bugs. 3.5 is way more rock solid. Upgrade to my newest stuff!!

For now folks, please make sure you have 3.5 before throwing Kontakt under the buss... 3.5 is a whole new animal and works flawlessly.

Hi Clowd, if you're gonna say these things about Kontakt, I'd appreciate that you go in to detail. I just taught my 14 year old nephew how to use it on his macbook and he has already used the glen sobel grooves and his POD to record a song in Logic. Really its just a very easy, intuitive sampler and I've never had a problem with 3.5, ever. Since version 3.5, we also get VERY few support emails concerning Kontakt.. its mostly about other issue. If you do have problems, send us a message or post on the SSD forum where guys like Josh can help you.

well, to be fair, I never upgraded to 3.5. I still have the original kontakt 2.0 or whatever.

that said, I have very little use for it anyway - I record real drums with overheads and just replace the shells.

Ok, I use drumagog on nearly every project I work on, and I've never used anything else.

Is Trigger going to support .gogs as well as Trigger's own file extension?

How easy will it be to bring other samples (non-slate) into Trigger?

When you load a new drum, its up to you to figure out how you want it. If its default with NRG room, what if you want it to have SSD room? If it defaults panned right, what if you need it left? It makes a lot more sense to have them come up default.

All you have to do to change this, is save each nki (instrument) as you want it, which will overwrite the default patch.

I think what 3holeface may have meant is that when you switch snares, you have to redo all settings. Not adding a complete new snare. When I'm testing which snare I want to use, it can be annoying to have to reset volume, room, OH on/off, etc. But, I get what you're saying and it's not THAT big of a deal.

ok. score is settled. TRIGGER will ship with all Slate samples in both native TRIGGER format and raw WAV file. I cannot say the same for 3rd party TRIGGER expansion packs.

Sorry if this a dumb question. But, does that mean the former SSD platinum samples won't work with trigger? And that if we want trigger we have to buy the samples as well all over again?

Didn't even think of that earlier, but it's a good point... I'd definitely like trigger to support all of the current samples if possible. I mean, we already have them, so if we're buying Trigger, I think it should be able to use them...

If you have SSD now, then you have wavs. So you can use our converter to change the wavs into TRIGGER files.. BUT, for all SSD users, there will be a discount on TRIGGER Platinum which comes with all SSD samples in TRIGGER format anyway.

I just tested TRIGGER on a few systems, its rock solid thus far. The phase accuracy is really something. We'll have it out soon.
