I'm surprised that I haven't seen this mentioned here yet, but I believe that it'll appeal to almost everyone. Stormkeep is from Colorado and apparently features a member of Blood Incantation, but this is old-school sword and shield melodic black metal with acoustic passages. HEAVY Dimmu Borgir vibes from the Stormblast/Enthrone Darkness Triumphant era, which are two albums that I adore. It's a bit faster overall but really tastefully done. Check it out, very promising first release. Haven't heard anything like this come out of the USA for quite a while.

edit: Also for fans of the first Old Man's Child album (which is another brilliant release)

Good stuff. I've also been meaning to check out Old Man's Child since oh I dunno 22 years ago. Some day!
 
These guys released a full-length last year which I only just noticed last week. The EP didn't really do a lot for me at the time (although I didn't give it much chance), but I'm enjoying this new one.
