Strange vocal effect, sounds like filter cut?

Ive noticed alot of producers using a filter cut like effect on vocals, but I cant seem to emulate it, an example -> Trivium- Dying In Your Arms @ 0:12

Anyone know how to accurately emulate this effect?

Nothing strange... a band pass filter (a low cut AND and a hi cut), and maybe slight distortion, and you're there.
