It has leaked....

I have only heard the myspace track that's up.... and it wasn't very good.

My thoughts later.

nice album title.
They probably took an example from Sodom.

I have it on my computer, but I'm too busy listening to the new Lamb of God to bother with it now.

I'm gonna end up getting too, don't worry. I'm actually really liking it though it's not the Lamb of God I have grown to have known, but it still pretty kickass.

I'm listening to the new Suffocation now, it's not bad, but nothing to gush about. I have to listen to it some more before I put my last judgements on it.

i think bands releasing selftitled albums late into their career is lame

It proves that their creativety is brunt and they're pushing out material for the soul purpose of staying slightly relevent as artists while actually losing credit as being burn outs looking for extra drug money.

After the third listen of Suffocation - Suffocation... My thoughts:

Production: good, but it seems like the drums and vocals are too high in the mix, which takes away from the guitars... and that's why I listen to Suffocation, the guitarwork.

Songwritting: It's okay, nothing like Pierced or Effigy, but they at least vary throughout the songs, you never know what's going to happen really. The breakdowns are different than everyother metalcore breakdowns, but it still sucks. Maybe they are trying to be "brutal" but it just comes off annoying, and never comes in when feels right for a breakdown. The riffs seem like going from a catchy riffs to riffs that just plain suck, they don't feel that smooth, and I start to space off, but then the catchy riff comes back later in the song. The solos seem to be along the lines of Behemoth solos sometimes, where they go into this melodic solo out of no where, even when the music is fast and crazy.

Lyrics: Vocals are great, like always. Frank is the man, but some of the lyrics are just terrible. SHUT UP! SHUT UP YOU! is an example, and the last track's lyrics are kind of dumb, from what I can pick up.

All in all, this album is a pretty big meh. It seems like they go in and out of ideas, and never really stick to anything, which is kind of annoying. If I had to rate this album it'd probably be low to mid 70's out of 100, just a mediocre album, nothing special, nothing keeping me for repeat listens. I'll probably put this album on in a few days, but I'm not expecting anything more.

Now I know that no good albums have come out since 1993 ( ) but how the hell can you say this sucks? Am I listening to the same fucking album as you guys? Monstrous production, stellar riffage, friggin fierce drumming. I can hear everything in it's awesome brutality, and Im on my 3rd listen through the album and I don't think I have heard a riff that "sucks" yet.The first time I heard Oblivion-->Abomination Reborn my jaw dropped.

Speaking of lyrics, you'll praise all these thrash bands with the shittiest lyrics imagineable but you'll rag on Frank for writing "terrible lyrics"???

Suffocation is definitely on the rebound and I can't wait to hear this insane stuff live!

(goes back into lurker mode for 2 more months)

Yeah, since all The Chasm albums have come out before 1993? Same with Stargazer? Yep, no good music after 1993.

There is nothing great going on in this album, while listening to Effigy or Pierced I hear great riffs all through out, catchy, fast, technical, but never annoying, but with this album you hear a catchy riff then turns into a riff that doesn't go anywhere or isn't catchy that just makes it feel "brutal". I must admit the drumming is feirce, but what the hell does it do for the album? Absolutly nothing. Just like alot of Brutal Death Metal bands, along with most grind.

The comparison to Thrash metal is completley BULLOCKS, and you fucking know it. Thrash is about having a beer, playing a fast heavy riff, and chanting chorus. Thrash is just to be heavy and catchy, some thrash bands do have great lyrics, but it's not a must. I listen to death metal for a whole different reason, for some atmsophere, great songwritting, or something you can get from thrash, because thrash evolved into death metal.

Perhaps this will sound better live, but for sitting and listening to a death metal album this is just a big meh. Some good riffs throughout, but all an all it doesn't do anything, nothing original, and not even close to being something even fun to listen to. It's just a boring "brutal" album.

rolleyes indicates sarcasm
I have sarcasm in my post because The Chasm and Stargazer clearly put out fantastic albums after 1993. Using blatent sarcasm.

yeah, I know. My response was showing he is being a bastard for saying that with his sarcasm, because it clearly isn't the case, and it's not how I feel.

I replied to his sarcastic comment sarcastically trying to make his comment seem absurd.
