I've been reading up on sub-genres of black metal lately. Honestly, I never really listened to very much black metal, but I'm a freak of DIY grind and crust. Most of what I've heard was really awesome though (the classics: Darkthrone, Mayhem, Emperor, etc.) I know some of that stuff is commercial...
Anyway, I'm into bands that keep to the DIY spirit and I read an article about 'forest metal' and how it deals with anti-industrialism and living in the 'ancient ways' (very appealing to the average crust/anarcho punk). Unfortunately, the article failed to mention any bands I could give a listen.
But what I wanted to ask is if anyone could suggest some good forest metal bands that I could listen to? I would be grateful.
Thanks!
