Hi all at Ultimate Metal!

I am looking for new (not nu) metal bands to listen to. I thoroughly enjoy Lamb of God, especially Ashes of the Wake, and I'm getting into Despised Icon.

I am a drummer and I enjoy instrumentals, breakdowns, fills, and solos. Also, I am an audiophile so I would really like the band's CDs to be recorded well (so I hear everything crisp and clear). Also, I am not particularly fond with blast beats, so it would be a plus if the band doesn't use them every five seconds (not at all would be best).

Thank you all very much and I hope to become a part of this community!

If your fond of instrumentals check out Pelican - Austrailiasia (I'm pretty sure I spelled the album's name wrong, just check out Pelican).

Also I recommend

Gojira - From Mars to Sirius
Disillusion - Back to the Times of Splendor
Kalmah - The Black Waltz
and one last recommendation, Sigh - Hangman's Hymn

Hope you like them.

Edit: also check out Agalloch - The Mantle. It's one of the most amazing metal albums I ever heard, not to mention one of the most unique.

Good recommendations also, except for Sabbat and Judas Priest imo :headbang::headbang:. Iron Maiden is good to, but not fit for someone new to metal. Definitly check them out though after you listened to metal for awhile.
