I'm currently waiting for a response from my sweetwater rep. The way they explain in on their website is that they are working directly with Toontrack to get the product out as soon as possible. He should get back with me today with an estimated arrival if I ordered it from there today or tomorrow.

Do we know, though, if it's gonna have any good metal sounds to it? I was really interested in getting it, but heard in a thread here about a month ago that Toontrack had pretty much abandoned the metal people in their efforts to try to branch out...

Well, while I can totally understand where you are coming from, I don't really think any drumset is classified under any specific genre. Moreso, just typical sizes used for certain genres, such as jazz, where they use smaller sized drums, metal typically a 22" kick drum is used, etc.

As long as the samples aren't processed (like EZDrummer...), then there shouldn't be a problem for people to process them for any style they are using them for.

Yea its more aimed for rock. Not to say you could not make some metal drums with it. Hopefully they will release some metal packs or something for it though eventually.

i am afraid there won't be any metal stuff, those jerks always want that lame boring jazz stuff.
AD, BFD, EZ, i bought all of these and every time i just got dissapointed.
now i am using SSD2.0, it really sounds killer but handling is really unacceptable!!!
i hope "superior 2" has learned from the others mistakes.

Just sample-replace all the close mics and use the insane room sounds to make it sound over-the-top-awesome ...

I can barely contain myself with excitement ...

you mean, OWN samples can be added?:hypno:
that would be fuckin' awesome!

On a side note Meshuggah used DFHS 2.0 avatar series (samples) on 'OBZEN'

Really?
I hear, that OBZEN was totally made with real drums

Yeah, I thought Tomas stated in an interview with sickdrummer that it was all "real" drums this time around.
