In the 80s and early 90s it was common for tone to be switched up song to song. From different amps to different sound effects. But Nightingale seems to be one of the very few who does this, and its one of my favorite things about them. Instead of having one tone/effects setup and sticking to it, Nightingale will switch around within a song to add color and texture.

Must be a fairly long process to figure out how you want your guitar to sound from section to section (though if I recall you record your guitars dry, so this probably allows you to play around with it a bit without having to rerecord each time).
