Hey guys! I'm new to the forums and wanted some opinions on this song that I'm working on. I've been messing around with different guitar tones for my future solo project and wanted to know what you guys thought. (First time using impulses)

Also, any ideas on how to get the toms to sound more distinct? I'm having trouble getting them on top of the mix with out killing the guitars.

Dude that´s no bad mix... The guitar seem to work good. Ok, it´s very dry sounding on the non orchestral parts. But this is always a problem with amsims. Wouldn´t change much on the tone. Maybe some more highs could help. Would also try carefully use of a short verb.
One thing that bothers me, is the room sound of the drums. SD2 i guess. Can´t stand it anymore, and to much for my taste. Snare semms a bit week too. Thought about replacing snare/kick?
There are some annoying freq on bass. Something in the mud area 400hz down? Not sure....

Thanks for the tips man. I dropped down around 400hz on the bass and it does sound a lot better that way. I replaced the snare, the kick was already replaced but I changed up the eq a bit. I also took out all the ambient mics in SD2 so there were no room mics except the OH's and messed with the toms eq and compression a little. Also added that short verb onto the guitars.

Already, to me, it sounds much better. Thoughts?
