How do get synth-sound?
I can't get a choir-like synth-sound like in the beginning of that song:

I tried it with every single Synth in logic and with GreenOaks Crystal.

Preset anyone? :D

With a quick listen, it sounds like a sample pack, something like Quantum Leap Symphonic Voices. (I'm at work, listening through a crappy speaker..)
Haven't heard a choir sound like that from any synth yet (excluding the newest offerings from Roland and Korg).

Or they hired a choir and recorded it. :)

that actually sounds like a combination of a sample pack like Jussi mentioned and also a couple tracks of actual vocals sandwiched between ...

tons of verb to make it all mesh together and sound far away

its not even much of a "choir" I'm only barely hearing one harmonic step over the melody with the harmony part sounding like the synth/software

Personally I think it is easier to make synth drums, bass and guitars sound nicer than synth choirs. I think those choirs might be real humans.

I never tried Omnisphere but maybe that's your best bet. And it's around 50gigs. In that song I can hear male and female choirs, usually both sexes don't come in one patch. And they don't simply do an octave, just in case.

This video uses EWQL Voices of Passion and is quite impressive imho, never tried that vsti myself.

that sounds almost like the OP's link, dude, what did you use?

voxos/omnisphere/symphonic-choirs/requiem.

i used one section from every library then i sent all channels to two different reverb auxes: 1) custom altiverb impulse, 2) vsl convolution reverb (also custom hall impulse).

done on a macbook air (with ipod headphones). ;)

ya gotta love technology! <3

that really is quite fuckin close, pretty good "quick example"

i say "quick" because it only took me about 7 min to make... and really the reason it took so long is because i had to load from an external hdd onto a macbook air.

i couldn't have probably spent more time on the expression/modulation/legato etc.

but you get the gist. :)

i'll tell you what ...why don't you post the midi file and i will put something together for you! ;)

here is a quick example... that sounds pretty close (to me).

Ah fuck ... dude, I totally missed your answer because I was on vacation over easter. Could you please re-up your sample? I would love to hear it...

Thanks bro and thanks for all the other answers!
