Tab Request: "Credence" (as played on the Opeth guitar lesson of "The Drapery Falls")

I was only able to figure out the verse part of the song looking at the video (Mike's part). Atleast, I think what I transcribed is (close to) correct. The existing tabs indeed suck bad. I would also like a correct tab of the song.

I have a tab in the local pub, but I doubt that can help you. Unless you want to pay for it?

Damn , I didn't know there was Opeth tabs for sale! Just publish it Opetian :erk:

And Arnab why don't you try to figure it out by watchin it. I have checked it know and the main part that is that goes on

OK bro. I'm willing to pay for it. I only need a method of payment; you see, I live in BD and I have no credit card.
:goggly:

Haha. OK enough with the jokes. I'm dying for the tabs. Please someone help me! :waah:

Dude, what you need to do is download Powertab, find it on google. Download the program and then you should be able to find tabs that are powertab files that play the song for you and the numbers highlight when they are being played. Best form of learning except from one on one tutouring.

Oh BTW, I also figured out the correct outro (I think). I could throw the 2 parts in Guitar Pro.

I second the powertab motion ;)

Wankerness is like.. fucking amazing at tabbing out Opeth.. But it seems Opeth have starting dumbing down the way they play songs live.. they sound different to the record versions at points.. Or maybe Wankerness is just complicating them haha!

..whatever the deal is - Wankerness is your man.

EDIT:
..erm mate.. the powertabs are the closest you're likely to get to the actual recording. I remember the Credence tab being pretty accurate, so i don't see what your problem is.

Yeah the one Peter plays , I need that Moonstruck. Pleased I will be if you can share it.

Why I am talkin like Yoda today?

I think the credence one is slightly off. I don't really like that song much so I never bothered correcting that guy's. I'll do it if this guy wants a powertab instead of guitar pro, though.

And what are you saying? My tabs are different from how they play it live, or since I based some of the GR ones on the live versions they don't sound like the cds? :erk:

No no no.. not Ghost Reveries.

When and Demon Of The Fall are the ones that come across different live. At parts where you use more complex chords.. they seemed to play just powerchords.

then again.. i have no idea whether or not you've updated them.

Eh? Like where? I have legitimate bootlegs of each and they don't sound much different to me. I will say that they play the Drapery Falls blatantly differently on the Lamentations DVD than they do in the dissecting the drapery falls video, so clearly they don't have a set way to play everything that they always adhere to. THey probably get lazy live and simplify things slightly to avoid making mistakes.

Yeh my thoughts exactly.

I've seen then twice live recently, and .. in When the section that starts at 5:06, that was markedly different live. Peter was playing the rhythm and from what i saw it was simple powerchords that he played.
Demon of the fall, the section starting 4:28, that also seemed changed when they played it. The tab seems to have it as 2 guitars playing the same thing, but i remember them playing 2 different things that weren't like the tab.

TBH, i still think your tabs are amazing and frankly i'm not that bothered whether the odd riff is different to how Opeth play it live - it sounds like that on the record, so i'm fine.

You got a PM, Yoda.

Another thing is that live mixes sometimes make complex chords sound muddy, where power chords always seem to come through OK.

Cause these guys don't seem to make too many mistakes, even when they are playing the tough stuff.

C'mon people, you're helping each other out but no one's helping me out! :(

I could send you what I have tabbed, but I don't have a place to upload it. You could send me a PM with your email adress and I'll send it. As I said, I only have the verse/outro.
