TESLA Talk

Tesla totally Kicked Some Major Ass Tonight in the ATL @ Center Stage!!!! What an awesome show!!! Frank Hannon just kicked so much ass on every song!!! So did Jeff Keith, Brian Wheat, & Troy Lucketta!!! And new guitarist, Dave Rude totally kicked Major Ass as well!!!! :D On top of that, the show sold out completely!!!! It was EVEN BETTER than 1987 @ The Omni!!!!!!! :kickass: :headbang:

DrkLrd, how long did the opening band play? Normally, I just want to get opening acts over with. I'm glad to see that you're pleased with the show. Center Stage would've been a good place for them to shoot a DVD.

Uh, hey dude, I'm jimi btw! Anywho, My gf & I got there around after 8, & the opening band, The Leo Project were already playing when we arrived, so I think they played a good 45 min. set. Since Tesla started around 9-ish. & yep, they did play a real good majority of "Forever More" which I thoroughly enjoyed as well!!! And peppered the whole entire show w/ all their big hits! "Modern Day Cowboy" ( an absolute personal fave, & the VERY FIRST Tesla song I'd ever heard!) was awesome & they played it early, I think it was the 3rd song! They played Heaven's Trail (No Way Out), Hang Tough, The Way It Is, Love Song, Comin' Atcha Live, What You Give, & Signs!!! Btw, Love Song & Signs were awesome live, since the whole entire audience was singing right along!!!! And Frank Hannon was wearing a huge black top hat! Frank also did a TOTALLY BADASS guitar solo w/ Dave Rude!!! They did do one encore, Little Suzi, their first single! No Edison's Medicine though. :( All in all, I definitely have to say it again, This was WAY BETTER than 1987 @ The Omni!!!!!!! :headbang: :kickass:

That's cool. I have to admit, Signs goes right along with Extreme's Whole Hearted as songs I'd like to forget! :puke: I wish Tesla never sang Signs.

With that said, it looks like they basically ignore Bust A Nut and Into The Now.

I saw this tour in New Orleans, was really an awesome show.

They did focus on the new cd a lot, which was ok with me, I like hearing the new stuff live.

They did play Into The Now in New Orleans. The past couple times I have seen them, they have played quite a bit from Bust a Nut and Into the Now. I guess its all about the new album. I had read in their forum that they were playing Try So Hard on this tour, but I didnt get it in NO.

I saw them last August at a benefit show in New Orleans, they only played for an hour, but it was awesome. They played Mama's Fool, which is my all time favorite from them. I was jamming so hard, Frank reached down at the end of the song, gave me a high five and the guitar pick he had used to shred it up. It was still smokin!

:headbang:

I am a little stoked because they just played Santa Cruz, Ca and I did not make that show but they just announced a show in Oakland at the newly renovated Fox Theater, should be awesome!!!

Yeah, that's fine with me if they focus on the new CD, because they should. Mama's Fool is a great song for sure. My all time favorite from them is Heaven's Trail though. :kickass:

Let us know if you go.

Seen Tesla loads of times, as well as Bar 7 (if you don't have that one it's Jeff Keith and Tommy Scheoch (spelling?) sounding much like Tesla). They always deliver even when Jeff's loaded on the Blue Ribbon.

Well brian, I'm not sure how old you are, I'm 44 btw. But SIGNS goes back to the early seventies for me! 1971 to be exact! You see I first heard THE ORIGINAL SIGNS from The Five Man Electrical Band, & SIGNS was a song I heard on the radio growing up w/ my dad, WAY BEFORE Tesla even thought about covering it! So it has sentimental value & it's kinda nostalgic to me! :kickass:

I've seen them 10 times. First time I saw them was on the Mechanical Resonance tour with David Lee Roth, and most recently I saw them this summer. They've never been anything short of fantastic. The new disc just may be their 3rd best disc. It's neck and neck with Bust a Nut.

I see. I've just turned 33, so Signs wasn't on the radar for me until Tesla covered it. It's not that it's a bad song, but radio wore it out when it was released.

It's really good to hear that a band can actually deliver after all these years.

I have to say that when I first saw Tesla with Dave Rude in the band back in Sept 2006 in Vegas I knew that the Spirit of the band was infused back into them. They were completely drained waiting for Tommy to kick his habit and the last time I saw Tesla before that was one of Tommy's last performances with the band and he was definitely not a happy camper. I met him after the show and he seemed okay for the most part, I just don't think his heart was in it any longer. Anyways I am getting my pre sale tix for the Fox Theater show in April, should be another great show.

They played the title track from Into the Now in Dallas as well. The tour before that they did "Miles Away" which is one of my favorites from that album. If you like Into the Now you'll love Forever More.:kickass:

As for the opening act, they were pretty generic so I'd advise skipping them. The openers on the previous tour, Poets & Pornstars kicked ass though.:headbang:

...saw tesla last night in raleigh.........what a great show :) they just get better and better :headbang: i love jeff's voice...

(venting now, sorry....but the bummer about it being sold out, was finding the only place (a staircase) to stand on and leaning sideways holding on to the hand rail was an experience...plus, why do i always find the very spot where someone feels the need to stop and stand right in front of me to watch the band....grrrr)

it felt good pushing them out of the way....i like the power :loco:

and i find it funny that i had to move from california to north carolina to see a california band...(never had the chance to see them in california) :Smug:
