The fat guy at work that sits adjacent to me and does nothing but surf porn all night, fully aware that I can see his screen perfectly.

The coffee shop we gather in after classes has a row of 3 computers. The screens are positioned in such a way that everybody sitting in any of the other tables can't avoid to see the content on the screens. Also, everybody passing from the outside can at a glance do the same through the glass. Once three different shady-looking people were sitting in the three computers, all surfing for horrible pornography. They looked like struggling porn-gathering worker drones, gathering grotesque variations of various sexual acts for the queen mother. One of them (a rent-a-cop) visited the bathroom after his porn harvest and then left in a hurry. I had to go later on and I can't even describe the condition he left the bathroom in. Let's just say flushing would be considered an ironic gesture.

this guy isn't that gross.

His appearance would hint at such a conclusion, but really he just looks at porn for three hours (big fan of blow jobs) does his radio show (I think he's a pretty big deal music critic here) and then looks at pornfor another 3-4 hours.

Sometimes he checks and answers e-mail, but rarely.

Aaangeeeeerrrrr! Pretentious prick at 12' o'clock. How dare he spout off that anyone's murder is their own fault, even if he doesn't happen to enjoy their music (AND IT IS MUSIC ASSHOLE!)! Plus only morons believe in physiognomy, aside from which people I have met at shows tend to be some of the nicest folks you'll ever run into (i.e. my nerdy but very nice Env. Science teacher in high school - huge slayer fan), and if you have ever seen Julia from Uranium you would also know that metal fans at large are not 'ugly' any more than classical appreciators. Douchebag....

That guy had some good points and some totally fucking stupid points.

Part of the hard work of civilization is teaching young to be able to distinguish between the good and the bad in all aspects of life.

I stopped reading after I read this. Fuck his dualist mentality. He just keeps saying that classical is better than metal (which, for the most part, I feel is true), but doesn't say why. I believe that is called "begging the question."

But being better in art is impossible unless you yourself hold some sort of dualistic conviction because there's no universally agreed-upon standards on what makes good music, good.

The people responsible for the little snack area because they decided to be lazy and to bring in one of those automatic, per-cup, coffee machine instead of the old method of brewing big thermos of coffee (they had the big machines to do so easily). The coffee now tastes like crap....
