I'm not a die-hard fan of either Graveland or Nokturnal Mortum, but I do enjoy these two releases. I know both bands are quite popular in black metal circles, and both bands also use synths to enhance their music. Also, these two albums are very atmospheric listens, and conjur the same imagery for me when I listen to them.

So, which of these two classic Eastern European BM records do you enjoy the most? I have to go for The Celtic Winter - a very strong release, Graveland's strongest, in my opinion. Goat Horns can be a bit too cheesy at times, I find, especially the synths. Both are good records, though. Pick your favourite, I'm just curious to see which record out of these two the majority of you enjoy.

Though Celtic Winter is a fantastic work, my preference is usually Goat Horns, as it is Nokturnal Mortum's best album. Thousand Swords would be another story though...

I'm a huge Graveland fan, but their early works just don't do much for me. They didn't get interesting until Thousand Swords and especially Following the Voice of Blood.

Goat Horns, along with Lunar Poetry, are great listens (having just received both recently). I pick Goat Horns.
