The Colony Appreciation Thread

Lads, Fuck up.

:)

anyway, Colony is my favorite too, it has Ordinary Story, Zombie inc and Scorn, and not to mention Embody the invisable, what else is needed for a great album?

and the artwork is intresting.

Holy shit, I'm afraid of say anything now. :p

I fell in love with Ordinary Story the first time I heard it (music video), and naturally I took a liking to the album. It's good, but not my absolute favourite.

If you changed your mind about the thread, saying its to show everyone's appreciation thread. Then I too change my mind: The thread itself is fucking stupid. Threads that dont contain something the least interesting, or are open for debate, are pretty fucking stupid. Who CARES about 10 posts which all contain "omg colony rocks", more or less? Its stupid, refrain from posting stupid threads.

I created this thread for people to discuss just what they specifically like about colony, not "omg colony rocks", and i never changed my mind about it. And frankly, if you think this thread is stupid well i dont really give a shit, at least this is an on topic thread.... this community is filled with random spam threads about nothing, why don't you go complain about those. And i still don't know why you are so angry.

I got into In Flames soon after Colony came out, if memory serves me correctly, for i saw them on the colony tour, and thats how i became a fan. I had heard the name around quite a bit previous, but never really had a chance to listen to them. Finally, after seeing them live, i was a huge fan instantly. But needless to say that colony was a very impactive album in their catalog for me, since its the one i started with. i will say that the album has its mediocre moments (no album is perfect in my opinion), but as an in flames album, it certainly gets the job done, as they all do in some way or another in my opinion. ordinary story, embody the invisible, zombie inc, colony, insipid 2000, scorn, etc....all solid tracks.

I complain in those thread too, mind you. My point is that if this thread gets, lets say, 30 replies that consist of actual praise of Colony, they will all be the same, and very, very uninteresting. Just a thought, draw your own conclusions, Pablo.

I don't think theyll be the same. I wanna hear peoples opinions on the main reasons why they like Colony (if they do). Not everybody has the same reasons. And if you could care less, then just ignore the thread. Simple as that, because just because you dont care that doesnt mean everyone else doesnt care.

Totally agree here. Colony was my first, and that also might be a factor in why I love it so much (besides every other reasons I mentioned.)

PROTIP: "Could care less" means that I actually care a lot.

I see your intentions with this thread, albeit them being still far-fetched and idiotic, im going to leave you alone. Just expect one thing before you post another of these mindless threads: People will disagree, because you are taunting them too, whether you like it or not

Jesus christ, I know that people disagree, and i didnt make this "idiotic" thread to argue, that was the point

Colony's good. It's the bridge between TJR's folksy death metal and R2R's catchy hard rock, featuring elements of both and neither.

Listen.... you don't have to agree, or disagree.... this is not an "Agree with SunlapseVertigo Thread", this is just a Tribute thread, a place where people can focus on the good rather then the bad. Everyone else seems to understand. What I'm trying to get at is that people should focus on the good rather then the bad when listening to music, you'll end up liking a lot more. RTR is a good example, more people should have gone into the album and looked at the good things and IMO they would have seen a lot more in the album. But you could absolutely hate the album for all I care, but if you have one little thing thats positive about the album then you can post it here. I never wanted a big argument, im not angry, this has just been a misunderstanding.

*hump* ..oh i mean *bump*
