Hmm, well it is the probable closest you'll ever get to seeing Cream live. Who knows he might even play some tracks, White Room live would rock.

Well done.

Still £40 (100$AUD) for Tool is steep, gig tickets must be more expensive in Aus, for good reason I suppose.

Thats sort of what I was getting at, large sections of Aus are still unidustrialised. Unlike here in the UK where if a band plays the furthest away they could possibly play is 500 miles, give or take anyhow. Therefor, gigs are further apart, more money will be spent on fewer venues, which no doubt jacks the price up.

Well the venues and organisers usually know many months ahead, of plebs like you and I, when the and where the gigs will be, or at least they're meant to. Although the amount of "fuck ups" at your average gig leads me to believe that, as always, the people in charge have no idea what's going on on the ground. Ivory towers and all. Still less gigs does mean more bums on seats at the ones that do appear, perhaps they're just milking it.

i think tool is a decent starter band, was for me at least. but for as much hype as they get, they're an incredibly average band.

They're kind of a love/hate band. A lot of people love them, but like any band, for every fan there's someone who despises them. I used to like them a lot, then they got kinda old, but I still like a good trip-out once in a while. What makes me more bored of them? It is basically due to discovering new and different bands all the time. It seems like every time I learn about some bands that I hadn't heard of before, another band kind of falls off my frequently played list.

In some Dutch magazine there was this article a while ago about Tool, with an interview. The first line went like: "Tool, the flagship of metal..." then I just laughed really loud. Gotta love the combo Holland & metal.

And I find Tool quite boring really. I have Lateralus, which I played three times and enjoyed once. The second time I got bored and turned it off. The third time i checked if i still thought it was pretty crappy. And it was, imo. Okay as background music, but no more than that.

Tool's drummer and bassist is pretty neat but the guitar playing is really unimaginative imo.
