I'll buy Cd's when the RIAA are dead
SADUDE said:You are a sad person. You are the type that give a bad name to file-sharing. People previewing their music is on thing, but stealing. There are enough problems faced by metal musicians many of them being financial. Sure the established acts and big names in corporate music are the ones bitching cause they cant add another gold coin to their pool of money. The smaller ones get hurt and helped at the same time. Sure their name gets out there but the priveledge of P2P gets abused. There is a difference between previewing and stealing. Thanks for making that much harder to keep a record deal, eat, etc ...asshole.

It was not about nirvana...In utero sold millions of copies. THey did well, but I bet even if they did make say a few million, the lables made like 20-30 million.
iAMtheblackwizards said:I agree, thats why i will steal from the RIAA, but not anyone else. The RIAA steal from their musicians anyway, at boycott-riaa.com they have a breakdown of nirvanas income after the in utero album, and they were actually in debt 14,000 dollars after selling however many copies they did (it was a bunch, obviously) but the label was still up 7 million. Most metal bands aside from like maiden and priest are not on RIAA labels, so pretty much i do buy everything i can get my hands on anyway, because at least i know the money will get where its supposed to. There was some website where you can send your money directly to bands, i forget what it was, but its like if you burn a cd, youre supposed to send like 15 bucks to the band itself, to spite the shitty RIAA label they are on, this way at least the band does get the money they diserve for putting out something worth listening to. If i can find that link ill post it.
i leave you all with these words:
FUCK THE RIAA

Degenerate Machinery said:i have a huge mp3 collection. I am considering not buying cd's anymore because they are extremely over priced. 20 bucks for a piece of plastic? I think not.The riaa is going to lose this battle against the consumers and their gonna lose big, once they do the music industry is going to have to go through a radical change. It's high time the consumers stopped getting ripped off.
