And btw, Felix!
Right now is the worst time for a football fan, though (at least in Europe). Off-season is killing me! Withdrawal symptoms galore...![]()
And exactly this is the reason, why I started this thread right now

He's playing for Milan (A.C.) now... But he's not even a regular starter. Light years away from what he used to be. Maybe his career will go down the same route as Rivaldo's (now in Uzbekistan) or Denilson's (now playing in Vietnam).
Wow dude, you know fucking much about itI also don´t like Gomez that much, but in the last season he was damn good. I´m corious about how long will Phillip Lahm stay in the Bundesliga. I think, he is one of the best defenders!
Felix I agree when Lahm goes on the attack...wow!!My dad is from Germany and played soccer over there..so it was Bundesliga and Nationalmannschaft religiously over here (no crappy american egg ball and baseball was allowed lol). Plus I lived over there for a bit in Munchen and Stuttgart and am planning on moving back there, we'll see how that works out. When I "one day" have kids I would love to engulf them in the German culture und Fussball!
Who's going to win the World Cup Championships 2010?
I still don't know, but for now I'm impressed by Spain & England.
But I also really count on Brazil & Germany to get far. These 2 teams are just made for tournaments like this.
Allthough here in Holland we've really got a great team together I don't consider us a winning team, simply because of the mentality issue. It's the complete oppisite of Germany, which always brings them far into the tournaments.
I am not a fan of many sports, including American football. It is incredibly boring to me! Baseball is a bit more tolerable for me. Hockey is way better in my opinion. I played lacrosse as a wee lad which is an awesome sport in my opinion!
I will say, however, that I did get quite into a few SOCCER (sorry just want to piss of my Euro buddies on here a bit) matches when I was working at my old job. My boss was Greek and constantly had the matches on the big screens.
I'd like to get more into it but don't know where to start! The way they structure their "leagues" is a bit mind boggling to a Yank like me.

overpaid for playing with balls
Heehey Joe
If you wanna see some really good and attractive "SOCCER" art, I recommend the spanish leage "Primera division". It´s simply the best..(I fairly have to admit) directly followed by the english premier leage. The only great attraction, Germany can offer, is the 1. FC Bayern München with Frank Ribéry![]()
An alternative possibility could be the European Champions Leage. In some Finals you get some really good shows to see![]()
how the "teams" are structured in the sport.
Very welcome, JoeHmmm do you mean which different tasks all the members of the team have? There are 11 players and usually 2 striker, 4 middle fielders, 4 defenders and a goal keeper. It´s difficult to explain Football in the english language..maybe some english guy can explain it better?
Hey man,
Naw, I'm reffering more to how the different clubs are organized, i.e. how does team A end up playing team B...and what prevents team C from playing team A.
-Joe
Aaaaaaargh!!!!Where are the English Football fans, when we need ´em?? LOL
Hahaha, sorry bro. Trying to explain without being confusing. Let's try it one more time.
You have "teams" representing countries, i.e. Italy, Germany, Greece, etc. etc., but then you have various "clubs" within the country.
When I watch the world cup, I'm watching the teams that represent their country.
What separates these players from the clubs within their country?
