1. If you were going to remake a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?

1. Remakes generally suck.
2. A Song Of Ice And Fire (HBO is working on it actually. It BETTER be good)
3. Xenosaga I,II,III Live action.
4. TV shows suck.
5. Novels, always. No movie can ever capture the power of words.

1) Food of the Gods - I would cast everybody here on the forum. After all, giant animals need to eat! :heh:

2) Lucifer's Hammer - Cool book about post-comet impact on Earth. Don't know who I would cast. Probably nobody "famous"

3) Frogger - Live action / snuff film. Sort of like a Logan's Run for death row inmates.....

4) Alive - Piers Paul Read - Bunch of people crashed into the Andes. Must resort to cannibalism to survive. They were up there a long time, and you could easily get a season or 2 of weekly tv shows. Be easier to follow than Lost.

5) I've read novels turned into movies, and movies turned into novels. I prefer whatever the original format was. I can't think of one time I liked the alternate version better than the original.

1-3. I don't care for movies, as I never watch them.
4. Don't read books either, lmao.
5. I dunno lol

1. Don't watch many movies, however... I would remove Tom Hanks from the lead role in "The DaVinci Code" and give it to someone with a voice to match the description in the book... a younger version of Harrison Ford.
2. Movies from books are usually butchered.
3. None
4. Hmmm, if I must, how about the Tom Clancy co-authored "Op-Centre" series of books. Action, betrayal, death... what more could one want in a tv series...
5. Books are far better than movies.

1. ?

2. The Pilgrim's Progress, or The Wheel Of Time series...

3. Diablo or Star Craft would be pretty kewl...

4. ?

5. novel, cos the movies are usually ripped from the novel, and aren't complete...

1. I'd do a remake of The Odyssey. Every single movie ever made for it has always sucked balls. I'd cast Johnny Depp as Odysseus, 'cause Johnny Depp is the man. And I'd have John C. McGinnley somewhere in the movie also. He's just awesome.
2. Faust. For Faust, I'd probably put Keanu Reeves and Jack Nicholson for Mephistophles if I wanted to make it a comedy.
3. HALO!!! And I'd get Mr. T to play Master Chief.
4. Not sure.
5. I don't like to think of it as one or the other. I like to just look at the advantages of both the books and movies.

=EDIT=

1. Labyrinth, the movie produced, written and directed by David Bowie, who also wrote the entire soundtrack. The movie could've actually been kinda awesome, but it wasn't cheesy enough. I'd leave David Bowie playing the Goblin King, have Hoggle be played by Jonny Depp, and I'd make Luca Turrilli play the main character, even though the main character is a girl. But it's the new millenium, so what's the difference anymore? (Other than the whole penis and vagina thing, but that doesn't count right now because it disproves my point.) Oh yeah, and not only would David Bowie be writing the soundtrack, but he'd have to work on it with the entire bands of Manowar, The Scorpions and Europe.

Ooh, this is interesting.

1. The Phantom Menace. No Jar Jar, Anakin will be played by Jake Gyllendaahl (however it's spelled) and carry on to do the other two films. Revamp story as well.

2. Um, Cat's Cradle, maybe.

3. Final Fantasy VI, fully CGI with all the original dialogue and scenes in the game...looking a lot like Advent Children but with more life. We're talking a minimum 3 1/2 hour movie here.

4. The Wheel of Time books would work quite well seeing as the budget won't have to be too tremendous and it's a kickass fantasy series. Well, I only read the first two novels....

5. Novel versions for everything except Shakespeare and Lord of the Rings.

That series is great! I've read all 11 books, but the damn thing still isn't finished... (pretty close though) I reckon it'll finish with the 12th, if Robert Jordan ever gets around to writing it... (i think he's been sick or something...)

1. Blasphemy.
2. Dunno.
3. If it could truly be made flawless, then I'd say "Fallout". But no. See 1.
4. Dunno.
5. Generally movies I guess.

This is easily the most awesome edit of my life

1) Citizen Kane starring Kelsey Grammar, why not update this film?. Mostly just because if I ever see that damned movie again, I will puke my heart out, eat my puked up heart, and then repuke said puked heart puke. (I'm a film student. This movie is boring. You cannot disagree.)

2) Neil Gaiman's "American Gods"...starring Christian Bale as Shadow, Morgan Freeman as Mr. Nancy, and Richard Attenborough as Wednesday.

3) Max Payne, live action, shot like Sin City (but with less CGI).

4) Douglas Adam's "Dirk Gently's Holisitic Detective Agency", because it is just as good as his Hitchhiker's series and could easily draw in the audiences of quirky detective shows like "Monk" or "Bones".

5) Novel, they have more depth, and I usually find the images I create in my own head to be more dramatic than the blague that gets put up on screen.
