The Friday Five

Back to the Five..
1. If you were going to remake a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?
3. If you were going to turn a video game into a movie, what would it be? Would it be animated or live-action?
4. You're going to turn a book into a TV series. What is it? Why would it make a good TV show?
5. Do you generally prefer the movie versions or the novel versions of works?
1. The Mario Brothers movie, with any other actors in the roles. Or Doom, because Doom is sweet and that movie was total junk. OR The Hitchhiker's Guide with my roommate Jared as Ford Prefect.
2. Book to movie transitions are usually horrible. Someone suggested American Gods... that'd be pretty awesome.
3. Metroid, live action. Or Super Mario RPG (right, Harris?).
4. A Song of Ice and Fire - HBO is beating me to it. This is going to rule.
5. The only time the movie has ever come close was "A Clockwork Orange."

That series is great! I've read all 11 books, but the damn thing still isn't finished... (pretty close though) I reckon it'll finish with the 12th, if Robert Jordan ever gets around to writing it... (i think he's been sick or something...)

WoT sucks. It's incredibly monotonous and boring. Ridiculous names too, like he's trying to be Tolkien.

2. If you could turn a book into a movie, what would it be and who would you cast in the roles?

Apparently there are plans to do this, but I'd do Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Also I'd make Children of Hurin and The Silmarillion to complete the LOTR movies.

5. Do you generally prefer the movie versions or the novel versions of works?

1. Probably The Goonies, don't get me wrong, I love that fucking movie. But remade with better quality, but still keep the shitty acting. I would probably cast Jon Voight, and Bruce Willis.

2. Holy shit. I remember this book I used to love, The Transall Saga. That would make a fucking ace movie.

3. Monkey Island or Secret Of Evermore. Live Action.

4. I have no idea, probably The Apocalypse. Because it is gr1m.

5. Novels, because it has more storyline, info, etc.

1. What was the best gift you ever received?
2. What was the worst gift you ever received?
3. What gift did you always wish for as a child, but never got?

1. What was the best gift you ever received?
This year, my best friend dropped by my job the day before my birthday, and we went out for lunch. Doesn't sound like much but the memory and the thought involved made it such a great present. As for material things, flowers and books are always awesome.

2. What was the worst gift you ever received?
We had a secret santa in fifth grade and this girl gave me a box of four melody pops... as in that crap they gave to the losers on Legends of the Hidden Temple. I was so pissed.

3. What gift did you always wish for as a child, but never got?
An American Girl doll.

4. What was the best present you ever gave?
A copy of The Brothers Karamazov for my mommy.

5. What was the worst present you ever gave?
I sure as hell don't go around giving people melody pops, but if I do give a "bad" gift, it's one without much thought involved, even though it's nice. I used to be a gift wrapper so I can make stuff look really good so on the occasion I give a crappy present the person can say "hey at least the wrapping was nice"

2) Clothes! As a kid i HATED clothes! Still do now, unless it's a cool band shirt or something...

3) I always wanted that Submarine with the working periscope & firing torpedos that was advertised in the back of comic books. Never even knew anybody who had one..

4) I give blood ALL the time...

5) As a younger dude (15-16) I was upset with a girl who broke up with me, and left a wrapped shoebox full of dog shit from the park on her doorstep.

5. What is your most interesting quality?
1. All I ever do is listen to and record music. My "friends" are normal, boring people who do boring things.
2. I'm nothing like them in any way other than genetics? I'm the only person in the whole family with red hair too, for some weird reason. I'll admit I'm very similar to one of my brothers mostly because we are both music obsessed and are in more than one band.
3. They listen to shit music
4. It's too hard to explain. I try as hard as possible to be different from anything or anyone and I have some very different views on things that many people would probably find bizarre. I don't mean in a 4chan way, either.
5. Musicianship probably

1. What sets you apart from your friends?

Musical tastes and the fact that music is pretty much my life. Some of my best friends are in med school, getting married, etc....lots of things that are a far cry from what I'm doing with my life

2. What sets you apart from your family?

more or less, everything. I think a lot of my sense of humor/sarcasm comes from my gramma, but in almost every other case the apple didn't fall too close to the tree. My Grandpa is a retired general, uncle is an officer, another uncle is retired air force, dad is air force....I'm the only musician in my family save for my great uncle who is a damned fine country musician

3. What sets you apart from your coworkers/fellow students?

Again, musical tastes....and I have a pretty quirky sense of humor compared to most of them

4. What is the one thing about you that is most unique?

my toes are very dextrous

5. Are you the most awesome guy on earth?

yes

3. What sets you apart from your coworkers/fellow students?

4. What is the one thing about you that is most unique?

5. What is your most interesting quality?

1) Distance - Most of my best friends live quite far away. Personality-wise, I probably have the most "unusual" sense of humor.

2) I am the black sheep of my family. Most of my family are quiet, and seem to have a hard time speaking their mind. In terms of gross income, I'm probably one of the least successful. there is no one more metal than me, either

3) Not a slacker. When there's stuff that NEEDS to be done, I'm usually the pointman. I also refuse to keep quiet when I feel something is not "right", sometimes at the expense of being politically correct (imagine THAT!)

4) I'm unique, just like EVERYONE else. :)

5) Probably sense of humor. I can make people laugh during the worst situations.

1. What sets you apart from your friends?

I play guitar.

2. What sets you apart from your family?

I'm taller than everybody in my family, and I'm an engineer.

3. What sets you apart from your coworkers?

I'm their boss. :heh:
And from my boss, I'm an engineer.

4. What is the one thing about you that is most unique?

I pretty much can do anything and everything. I started college as an art student, went through architecture and music, and spat out as an engineer. I play any and all sports, fairly well. I work on my car and make things from wood. I make beer. I drink beer. Et cetera.

5. What is your most interesting quality?

Ask my wife.
