The Friday Five

1. What's the sickest you've ever been?
A bad flu. I don't get sick. Almost ever.

2. What disease are you most afraid of getting?
Complacency.

3. Are you a wuss when it comes to taking medicine/shots for your illnesses?
No.

4. Is going to the doctor really THAT bad?
No. Just overpriced and overrated.

5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?
Money doesn't motivate me.

Generally just lose them somewhere around the house or elsewhere... fuck knows.

I really don't read that much, but actually the dystopian books really always interest me (the best examples i can think of off the top of my head are 1984, Farenheit 451, etc)

I thought Saberhagen wrote the Swords trilogy..of course, my books are all still in boxes so I can't check *mutter*.

And YAY for the Amber books..too cool to find someone else who's actually read them. :D

Hah, you're the first person i've ever found that has read them other than... well, my mom who introduced me to them. I've read the first 5 (the Corwin ones) too many times to count, and the Merlin ones once.

And swords (the knight, queen and king of swords) was written by moorcock... Skelator (the band i'm in) are huge moorcock fans and have a few songs about Corum and such.

1. What book(s) are you reading right now?
Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Technical and Research Data Bulletin. :(

2. What's your favorite book
I don't know; there are so many I like! For now I'll say Slowness by Milan Kundera.

3. Do you read books more than once?
Just the dirty bits.

4. Do you keep your books after you read them, or get rid of them?
I keep them.

5. What's your favorite genre of books?
I'm big on classic literature.

5. What's your favorite genre of books?

1) Today, I just finished Childhoods End by Arthur C Clark. I sat for about 5 hours and read the whole thing start to finish. Couldn't put down.

2) The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. It sparked my now obsessive love for math and physics.

3) Sometimes. My mind has a habit of going other places when I read. A re-read may be necessary.

4) Keep them.

5) As I said above I love to read about math and physics. My favorite authors are Brian Greene, Michio Kaku, Stephen Hawking, Lisa Randall and Roger Penrose. Science Fiction like Battlefield Earth, 2001 series, Dune, Hitchhikers Guide series. I also have a few books trying to debunk religion like The God Delusion, The end of Faith, Letter to a Christian Nation which were really good.

I have always wondered why I have never had a girlfriend, but now I'm pretty sure of the answer.

lol, beyond joking around it's not like I meant anything by that statement. For all we know, "she" is really just a persona created by this guy:

Actually, for all you know, I'M that guy...

1. What book(s) are you reading right now?
Promoting Yourself by Hal Lancaster
2. What's your favorite book?
Hobgoblin by John Coyne
3. Do you read books more than once?
That one, yes. A few others.
4. Do you keep your books after you read them, or get rid of them?
Usually keep them. Just aske the wife. haha
5. What's your favorite genre of books?[/quote]
Sci-fi/fantasy, but lately it's been business books to someday get ahead.

1. What book(s) are you reading right now?

I'm re-reading Heart of Darkness. I read it my senior year but I really only read in the minimum amount of detail to pass the test(s) on it. Other than that, I'm also reading "The Guitarists Guide to Composing and Improvising" by Jon Damian. A lot of it is "captain obvious" type stuff, but there's a lot of good info in there and it puts a lot of different things in an interesting perspective.

2. What's your favorite book?

I liked Siddartha a lot. I'm a big fan of almost all of Camus' works. I LOVE Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. However, The Alphabet of Manliness overshadows all.

3. Do you read books more than once?

Sometimes

4. Do you keep your books after you read them, or get rid of them?

Keep them, I've given books away to friends before if they need them for a class or something, but I generally keep them.

5. What's your favorite genre of books?

I like a lot of the Dystopian stuff. I enjoy SciFi stuff, but usually only when there's something more to it than the cheesy shit that generally only appeals to people who go to ComicCon.

1. Terry Pratchett - The Truth
2. Terry Pratchett - Night Watch
3. Not really. Will probably reread Pratchett when I've read all his books once.
4. Keep them of course.
5. Fantasy/sci-fi/satire/horror. All those combined would make the ultimate book. If I have to pick one I guess I pick fantasy.

:kickass:

I'm just about to start Going Postal.

Forgot what order these are meant to be in so:

I don't have a favourite book
Genre - I go for fantasy/sci-fi/satire/horror (ditto above :D)
I re-read books
I keep 'em

If you like Pratchett check out Good Omens (with Neil Gaiman). He signed my copy with a little doodle and a message that says, 'To Vicky, burn this book'.

:D
