5. Why not, flu is nothing. (At least in my case)

5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?

1. I haven't gotten a sickness as bad as this one I had when I was a senior in high school. I have a feaver of 103 and I started halucinating at one point.
2. Anything that I wouldn't be able to recover from.
3. Nah, bring it on. I down DayQuil like its water when I'm sick.
4. Nope.
5. How long of a flu bug are we talking? Cause I've gotten 48 flus and also ones that last for like 2 weeks. Either way, Im so broke right now that I'd do it.

1. What's the sickest you've ever been?
Appendicitis when I was 14. That was hell.

2. What disease are you most afraid of getting?
Anything. Diseases aren't something I find myself wishing I would acquire...

3. Are you a wuss when it comes to taking medicine/shots for your illnesses?
No. But after seeing what my wife had to go through with her last pregnancy, I don't think I'd be able to self-administer a catheter in my leg. Cheers to her!

4. Is going to the doctor really THAT bad?
No. I do need to go more often though. You shouldn't go to the doctor only when you're sick. Maintenance is good for a car and good for the body too.

5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?
Um, no. The flu sucks, especially when it lingers for a month or so. I find it more profitable to spend the days at work getting a real paycheck.

Sorry I missed last week, last Friday I was in a rented van driving from Des Moines, IA to Cheyenne, WY. Finally got here & have a reasonable facsimile of 'net access for the laptop (however, no desktop yet = no e-mail, if anyone's tried to reach me), so here's this week's Five:

1. What's the sickest you've ever been?
2. What disease are you most afraid of getting?
3. Are you a wuss when it comes to taking medicine/shots for your illnesses?
4. Is going to the doctor really THAT bad?
5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?

1. I was sick with the flu for nearly 2 weeks in fourth grade.
2. cancer
3. I used to be terrified of shots as a kid. No more though.
4. Nope. Like others said, periodic check-ups are good.
5. No way. It's never good being sick, as you can miss out on a lot, and you'll need to play catch up later.

1. What's the sickest you've ever been?

I don't know really...I guess it'd be when I got the chicken pox. Amongst other things, some of them got infected (partly due to me scratching at them) and I was on antibiotics for a bit. I really don't get sick often, so this story is way lame compared to y'alls.

2. What disease are you most afraid of getting?

Anything that would leave me crippled, deaf, or blind (in that order, starting with the least desirable)

3. Are you a wuss when it comes to taking medicine/shots for your illnesses?

I was REALLY bad with needles as a kid. I'm totally fine with shots, but iv's and getting blood drawn still make me sweat. I'm not anti-medicine or anything, but I usually have to be pretty sick or in a shit-ton of pain before I give in and take any.

4. Is going to the doctor really THAT bad?

Haven't been to the doctor in years other than for shots, I'm a very healthy person and tend to take pretty good care of myself. It's not terrible though I guess.

5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?

Depends on the length and severity of said flu....tentatively I would say yes because I'm a poor college boy

1)Pneumonia when I was in my early 20's. Bedridden for a week BEFORE I went to see a doctor. Was this || close to having to be hospitalized for it.
As this was before the medical experts had a full grasp of what AIDS was, seems almost everyone with pneumonia had these GIANT blood cultures taken. I swear they were like a pint each! Was the last time I quit smoking too...:erk:

2) Ebola, West Nile, Lyme Disease - In that order....
3) Nope not all!
4) Depends on the doctor. Ask my dad about that, he damn near died due to improper amounts of medications given. I have to change doctors almost every time my insurance at work changes. Had the same doc from birth, until he retired when I was in my 30's.
5) How long, how severe? I could use the cash!

A brain tumor like what killed my father..unlike other cancers, brain tumors are always terminal.
3. Are you a wuss when it comes to taking medicine/shots for your illnesses?

Nope, it's having to muddle through when you're VERY sick without seeing a doctor because you have no insurance thats the tough one.
5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?
No thanks.

1. What's the sickest you've ever been?
Three weeks ago at a submission grappling tournament. I forgot to correct my position while my opponent was attempting a heel hold. End result: My heel in a cast.

Not really.
5. Would you have the flu twice a month if you were paid $1,000 for having it?
I'd rather work.

4. As long as doesn't tell me to drop my drawers so he can check out the "family jewels" I don't mind.
5. I'd probably do it for 2 or 3 months if it doesn't affect my regular work schedule.

1. I got bronchial pneumonia when I was young
2. Any form of cancer
3. medicine no, shots yes...
4. depends what he wants to do...
5. no.

Eep! Is your wife ok then? *hugs*

Her fibro is getting a wee worse to where she's now complaining about it. And on top of the physical problems, she's developed rather nasty anxiety. I just have to remember to be the cool-headed one and then everything works out for the best. Since today's picture day for my daughter at school, the morning was rather hectic. I came into work 35 minutes late to make sure things went as smoothly as possible.

We'll find out about picture day when they come out.

And how can you be manless? I find that hard to believe, regardless of what malaise may be affecting your health. I'm sure you'll find that appreciative person soon enough though. You seem to be a cool person, and cool people win out in the end.

Hate to say it, but hang in there, kiddo.

There's something to learn from everything that happens. It took me almost ten years to figure out my wife, but now that I have it's so much easier to get through the "tough spots". And don't chalk it up to "luck" - just think of it as getting that much closer to the person you're meant to be with.

And then have a beer! :kickass:
