The Friday Five

5. If you had to teach the most ignorant person on earth the most difficult thing you have ever learned, how would you go about doing it?

1. Disappear.
2. I think that the meaning behind what we refer to as 'life' is to reach what's beyond 'life'. To aspire unto great things, to grow, learn and evolve, you know, from the individual to the universal...etc, to "rise above it all". ;)
3. Plastic swords, lego..
4. Left over right.
5. I no longer try to teach anyone anything just because I know something they don't, and especially if it's something they could've learned on their own, but I just like to help instead, and the way to do that of course depends on the situation and person...etc. but sure it's always a friendly way. ;)

1) The Science Channel

3) Oddly enough, I also watched Rocco's Modern Life. One of the best cartoons ever made. I wish they would release a DVD set with all of the episodes. Ren and Stimpy, Bill Nye The Science Guy.... erm... Captain Planet and The Power Rangers...

4) Reality Shows and wrestling

5) South Park (Up until season 8), The X Files, R&S, Futurama, The Twilight Zone (Preferably older, the new ones are hit and miss), The Universe. Probably a few others.

2. If you could create your own channel, what would it be?

some sort of music channel that just showed live performances, any genre

The old Marvel cartoons

4. What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show?

Flavor of Love

5. What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD?

Lost, House, The Office

1. What's your favorite TV network?

Haha, well... I don't know about American networks that much. But I don't really prefer any of our (Finnish) networks to others.

2. If you could create your own channel, what would it be?

Music and Gaming channel! That would rule! Seriously tho, I don't even know if I would want to make an own channel.

3. What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back?

GRAND PRIX NO TAKA. Best. Show. Ever.

4. What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show?

Half the stuff that comes from TV (atleast)

5. What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD?

Grand Prix No Taka and propably some other anime series. Maybe House too. (But not going to cause I don't feel like buying DVD boxes is worth the money, which I don't have)

I got the original series on dvd. All 5 seasons come in an awesome box set, and I would highly recommend you buy it.

I also got The Outer Limits (original series) on dvd. 2 seasons of that.

I have been wanting to get that set of twilight zone DVDs for a long time now. I just checked Amazon.com and it's only $180 dollars. I think I'm going to have to buy it. Thanks for the reminder!

I also saw The Outer Limits DVD at a Best Buy near my house. That definitely looks interesting, but I'll have to wait a while to get it. Unless it happens to show up used somewhere. I don't remember a lot about that show except one episode scared the crap out of me as a kid.

1. Either Comedy Central or ESPN. Depending on what's on.

2. Epic TV: (named after my Xbox Gamertag, Harris the Epic :D)
- - Live broadcasting really good concerts
- - Progressive Rock/Metal Talk Shows
- - A sitcom that revolves around a recording studio and music/audio/internet humor
- - A contract with Comedy Central to broadcast The Daily Show and Colbert Report
- - And maybe we'd also air some of the series from Adult Swim.
- - And late at night when nobody's watching, cinematic compilations and overdubs of the greatest Halo 3 Live moments ever.
- - And every year starting Memorial Day, we air all the most epic movies of all time without interruption: All 6 Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, maybe the Pirates of the Carribean movies, all the Indiana Jones, and Braveheart to finish off the marathon with other epic movies in between; some comedies too that are epic AND funny. (And I mean funny enough to get a good laugh; not just watch and not care)

3. Some early 90's Nickelodeon. Mainly Rocko's Modern Life and Ren & Stimpy. Oh yeah and the original Power Rangers. Fucking Epic. Oh yeah and Dragonball Z.

4. Fox News

5. Scrubs, House and Futurama. And (almost) anything from Adult Swim.

1. What's your favorite TV network?

Channel Dave! (it's a UK thing I think, basically its just cars, gadgets, games, comedy and music)

2. If you could create your own channel, what would it be?

A metal channel that is actually good.

3. What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back?

The old Power Rangers, the new ones suck

4. What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show?

Little Britian, Big Brother, every "Talent show" out there.

5. What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD?

Lost, Heroes, Black Books, Father Ted, Blackadder, Top Gear, The Office (UK version of course, y'know.. the one that's actually funny).

1. What's your favorite TV network?

Network is tough. Probably the Food Network or G4.

2. If you could create your own channel, what would it be?

Behind the scenes of films and television shows, music interviews and concerts, videogame reviews, reruns of Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Battlestar Galactica, The Office, Arrested Development, Extras, Aqua Teen, Family Guy, and The X-Files.

3. What TV show did you watch as a child, that you wish they would bring back?

Sliders.

4. What show have you always hated, and wonder why they ever made such a dumb show?

Heroes.

5. What TV show's seasons would you buy on DVD?

I already own what I listed above and more. Waiting for Spaced, Reaper, Pushing Daisies.

Oh yeah and the original Power Rangers. Fucking Epic.

I loved Tommy. It was sure thoughtful of them to give some eye candy to the moms who got stuck watching the show with their kids..hehe!

1. Comedy Central- It's the only channel that has a lot of different shows that I enjoy watching.....Stephen Colbert FTW!

2. Probably a REAL videogame channel....nothing like that stupid G4 or whatever its called. Something more appealing to true "hardcore" gamers.

3. There are a lot of shows that are nostalgic to me; however, there is a show that I remember from my childhood that I feel would do pretty well if it was brought back with a new cast of characters, The Young Riders. It was set in the western times and was about a group of young "roughnecks" who worked for the Pony Express. Of course like any other show they get involved in other situations through their work traveling from town to town delivering mail. The show ran up until the time of the Civil War and the last couple of episodes involved them getting caught up in it. It was actually a pretty good show.

4. Gene Simmon's Family Jewels- Ok, I hate all reality TV pretty much the same, but what is the point in calling it "reality" if the whole thing is scripted anyway? It seems lately that a lot of shows that are supposed to be reality are just plain not. The situations that "just happen" to occur are so ridiculously ironic that they HAVE to be scripted, especially with this show.

5. Robot Chicken- If you haven't heard of it, it plays late at night on the Cartoon Network in short 15 min episodes. Because they are such short episodes and that they are so enjoyable I have bought both the 1st and 2nd seasons so far on DVD so that I can watch it in bigger chunks. It is done using the lost art of "stop motion" photography, with each episode being made up of a bunch of very short quicky skits. It is great for those like me that remembers a lot of things from the 80's and early 90's as most skits revolve around this type of nostalgia.

1) I probably watch National Geographic Channel more than anything, but I also LOVE Fox News' Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld (sp?) His sense of humour is pretty close to mine, and the bizarre random flow throughout the show is awesome!
It's pretty much news of Nat Geo for my small amount of TV watching..

2) A VH-1 or MTV channel of ALL the old (and some new) concerts. No vids, no reality shows, no Cribs, no bullshit.

3) Monty Python or Fawlty Towers. Voyage To The Bottom of the Sea was a lot of fun when I was young as well.

4) EVERYTHING on MTV, and most of the network sitcoms. I hated Urkel too.

5) Contemplating picking up the Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea seasons, and the only other one I own is the first season of The Sarah Silverman Show (which rocks nads btw!)
