Yea, the post that was here was to embarrassing so I had to edit it. Its was a old post when I was newBLACKways.

Have a good discussion on how metal can grow in th nest few years.

Meh, 'Deathcore' bands are getting popular these days. Too bad they sound terrible with overdone breakdowns and bad pig squeals.

My mom's boyfriend has a son in a deathcore band. When I meant him on Thanksgiving, I attempted to talk metal with the foul, but he knew about metal and only wanted to talk about modern grindcore bands. Eventually, I told him that I thought his band sucked and so does the music he listens to. He got pretty offended. He deserves it for being in a band that considers themselves partially a death metal band and not knowing who Morbid Angel is.

Yeah, I hate those deathcore bands. I live in Canada so it seems to be pretty popular among people who listen to metal.

I cringe everytime I see the name of a core band...they're always something atrocious, somewhat of a sentence/statement.
I saw a headline for the 'metal' band "Arsonists Get All the Girls." Don't know anything about them, I can only assume they are somehow linked to core. But yeah names like that.

Annotations of an Autopsy is probably the best scenedeathgrind out there. I somehow aquired one of their hoodies that I wear occasionally

yeah i live in canada as well.good place here, but still. the kids here are stupid.like for example, is saw a pic of a behemoth concert in israel, and the ppl were wearing like, mortician, mayhem etc t-shirts. i was like WTF, we dont got any of that here, at least where i live. but there is a sufficient amount of emo

Fuck this. People need to start hating metal again. I blame Opeth and all the people coming here asking how to get their family, girlfriend and dog into death metal.

Haha. The people who are truly into the scene though are far and few in between. People who actually embrace the metal scene with open arms and invest time in the music, etc., make up for the retards that are out there. I will not lie, though, as I agree that it's annoying when some fuck face with a really lame greasy comb over doesn't know the difference between Iced Earth and Iron Maiden.

I won't blame Opeth, though. :) People always follow trends to seem edgy or to seem different... Metal is something that makes people stand out, I suppose, so I can see why people with no deep interest int he music try and flock to it.

When you go to a show though, you can tell who's really into it and who isn't. That's what matters.

I think the golden days of death metal are over and the scene kids are going to use its name for mtv like green day did with punk.

Who cares. As long as there's still good true metal being made, I don't care what trash is being peddled to the masses. It's no different to the nu-metal fad, or the grunge fad, or the hair metal fad. The shit music comes and goes but as long as the underground is still real, that's all that matters.

True. But soon true metal music will start losing groud. It is all ready bad enough when i say i like metal they say "oh like slipknot" and now i dont want my music to be called emo.

I am not liking the new deathcore thing because of how closely it gets linked to Brutal death. Brutal death is actually good and is not "core" related. Unfortunately these core kids are covering good bands like Digested Flesh and Devourment, while as previously mentioned forgetting old school death. This not only degrades them but drags brutal death with it in the eyes of otherwise knowledgeable metal fans.
