the future

Whatever that music is, it's not commercial and isn't going to be finding much airtime on MTV. So hate it because it's shite, not because they're only out to make easy money by being commercial. Like fucking Machine Head. Ha ha!

Gore Gore Gadget just sound like Slipknot to me, but even more amusing.

BUMP

God, my grammar was terrible. I still did not know how to talk of the internet so I come off has a angst seventeen year old. Yea but still this is an interesting subject. Anyone got any comments.

It seems like every few years there is some shitty fucking faggot trend that comes along which purports to be some kind of new wave of metal, but it's always just some diluted, mainstream take on the genre. Or even if these trendies don't claim to be metal the mainstream music press always seems to mistakenly assume they are. I think these kinds of trends will keep coming and going as long as metal exists. We'll always have something to hate I guess.

I definitely want to see the metal scene lose some of the attention it's getting right now. This attention just attracts some of the worst kind of music fans. I really haven't seen anything particularly exciting develop in the metal scene for perhaps the past 10-15 years. It would be nice to see something really exciting come up like when death metal was solidified and perfected as a genre in the early 90s or when 2nd wave black metal came to prominence. There aren't really any exciting movements in metal anymore, at least as far as I can tell. I don't really see it happening in the future either. I just keep it real with the old stuff.

I agree with Cythraul on this one, metal has got to the point where every possible genre has been covered, there's no variety in metal any more because as soon as a new sound comes out that people pick up on, every fucker jumps on the band wagon, copies the original sound and the genre quickly stagnates, it's happened with every single genre and will happen with any future genres (if there are any left to be discovered).

I cringe everytime I see the name of a core band...they're always something atrocious, somewhat of a sentence/statement.

This is a huge annoyance.

Bring Me the Horizon
Through the Eyes of the Dead
From a Second Story Window
War from a Harlots Mouth
See You Next Tuesday
O' Captain! My Captain!
With Blood Comes Cleansing
Annotations of an autopsy
From The Carnival Of Horrors
Last House on the Left

Fucking disgraceful.
