Hi there!

Now you all know those moments. You listen to an SW-song, really love the part but don't quite understand the lyrics in their sense. Then you go and look them up in the booklet but for some strange reason they don't make any sense! :erk: - THIS is the place to go.

Feel free to talk about any SW lyrics, their meanings and anything related to them as much as you want!

To start off, I have a question about a part in "The Black Parade". There's a part which is written in the booklet like this:

"Cause when time runs out
All your fears will be in vain
Love the ocean
The sun and the rain may dry out
"

I understand the song is about living your life with open eyes and passion because it's all you get. But what does the part mean which I've put in bold letters? I don't get the structure of the sentence!

Does it mean:
"Love the ocean, because the sun and the rain might dry out"?
That doesn't make sense!!

Or maybe...
"Love the ocean and the sun - and forget about the rain, as it'll dry out"
- doesn't seem very logical either...

Or what about
"Love the ocean, love the sun and love the rain - as anything of that will fade in due time"
- appears a slight bit logical to me. Even though the sun can't dry out and the rain can't dry out either - the only thing that can dry out is the ocean!!

:Smug: :loco:

Good comment!

(got me too at first)

The thing here is to not get thrown off by the phrasing.

It is not to be interpreted as
"Love the ocean
The sun and the rain may dry out"

but rather as,
"Love the ocean, the sun
-and the rain may dry out"

Like, focus on what's beautiful and you will overcome the bad things.

Kinda...

Am I right, Tommy??
