The Grunge Thread

@Satanstoenail

For sure, not all their songs are, but quite a few of them are.

Hell, Cobain even said Nirvana just started as a Pixies tribute band. (I'm not saying Nirvana is inferior to Pixies though, Nirvana is incredible as well... both bands blow my mind though I probably like Nirvana slightly more)

There is this band called Placebo. I think the vocalist is god awful horrible. I just think having constant vibrato in your voice is an amateur's misconception of how to preform proper technique.

When I have to put up with vocals from somebody, when they think they are good and sing through their nostrils or constantly vibrato or drag a note to death, it fucking pisses me off.

But sure, you could all say he is being himself, singing his own style.

But no, from what I've heard from this thread, grunge artist do a good job. Not this failure.

Soundgarden is pretty nice.

Mudhoney had some great stuff. Superfuzz Bigmuff is the album to get.

I personally like Grunge very much. Nirvana is one of my favourite bands. But I don't know very much this genre; I'm gonna increase my knowledge of it by listening and searching more bands.

Grunge is A++ in my book. I couldn't have gotten into metal without grunge. I started out as a classic rock purist and then I got into grunge because it was heavier but still had the rock n roll swagger.

But shiiit. Lately I've been getting into the Riot Grrrrl stuff. This stuff is so good... so much more raw and bludgeoning than most of the male grunge material. As much as I love grunge, it bores me now adays. So melodic. This riot grrl stuff... it's just heavy, catchy trashy garbage. I fuckin' love it. ;)
