the JAXX show has been cancelled.

you know, someone should inform *cough* the CLUB!
Its still on their website, and they are still selling tickets...
now, wtf am I going to do with my ticket????
do Ticketmaster refund?

(yes, I'm somewhat pissed.)

will's reliable sources > jaxx's reliable sources

not sayin' I have proof one way or the other, but this does fit conveniently in line with what I was trying to say a while ago about Jaxx and their tendency to have these kinds of things happen :loco:

but what would be the funniest is if Will is doing this to have everyone else NOT GO since he can't

*high fives Will*

Well, I've been playing there for ten years, and I've never had a national cancel on one of the shows we've been opening. (Blind Guardian booted us off, but that's a different story.)

The club had an issue once with announcing a Dream Theater show before the band confirmed it, so the band pulled it. Otherwise, the cancellations there aren't much different than any other club we've dealt with. Bands cancel shows/tours sometimes after they've been announced - it happens.

Anyway, I talked to them today, and they haven't yet been informed it's cancelled. They're checking with the band's reps to see what the deal is.

yes, I think their policy is they refund , but ONLY if a show itself is cancelled (so, not rescheduled or something). I found this out when I went to get a refund for my Judas Priest/Anthrax ticket that time that Halford wouldn't play because he was afraid of terrorists. They were pretty rude at the one place I got them from though, stating "ticketmaster DOES NOT GIVE REFUNDS" and then I had to wait several minutes while the appropriate approval calls were made... I'm sure its a lot easier through the website though :p

I know this is different, when a band announces a show and it cancels, it's the same thing everywhere.. I was just going on about something else and how they used to have a tendency to place bands on their schedule with a note along the lines of "YES, IT IS TRUE, WE ARE GETTING THIS BAND" when the band themselves never even planned to tour. I've seen nevermore shows listed on there at least twice, 4 or 5 years ago, for example. So yes this attitude of jaxx's is ingrained in me since it's what I was weaned on, even if they are better about their honesty these days.

Not really. In fact, TicketBastard's a pain for refunds, period.

A lot of times booking agents will "seed" clubs to see what the interest is like for a tour, and Jaxx got caught announcing that someone was coming based on that a few times. It looks bad when the tour dosen't happen, true.
There's been a lot less issues with that this year, though, since Tony took over the website/promotion end of things.
