Maybe Darkseed. I heard a song by them and it was pretty good.

It's not Darkseed, but they are indeed very good, and would make a great choice for 2005. Their last two albums, "Diving into darkness" and "Astral adventures" in particular have both been excellent. Sadly their singer, bass player and main songwriter, Stefan Hertrich, left the band recently, and although they're carrying on without him, it remains to be seen how it'll pan out. I'm hopeful though...
