The Modern Producer blog (Jordan Valeriote)

yeah it fucking sucks. i'm looking for something that can import my igoogle shit. i don't want to have to manually set all that junk up again. uuugh.

Feedly-best thing ever! Using it as extension for Chrome and Firefox, works like a charm, the app is fantastic
and it imports all your feeds from your Google Reader account without a problem.
It's also easy as hell to add new stuff and you can check for new feeds through categories, like design,
news, music, food and so on, check it out!

Got nothing to add to the rest of the thread, everything was already said ;)

So I've been listening to the last few Silverstein albums fairly heavy recently and I wikied them just to find out to produce only to see it was Jval, then I remembered this topic.

Bump I guess.

Anyway, I just wanted to know what you used for the guitars on those records? They've got this pleasant slightly undergained vibe I really dig.

Haha sorry guys. Think I got a little burnt out on it posting so much... just taking a break to re-energize and try to come up with some more posts. good to see that at least a few people would care..

On their records we always use a mix of amps depending on the song or the part. they have access to tons of amps so we'll have like 6 or 8 heads to choose from at any point. In general though, the most commonly used amps were 5150 for heavier songs, and JCM800's for the more melodic rock stuff. some new Mesa heads (forget the names) were used on a couple songs on the new record, i believe.

Man Bump! I miss this Blog sick work, I know you're probably handling big projects etc but I definitely hope you start blogging again! "And the nothing new under the sun" No way man His post about how he handles guitar EQ seriously changed my flow. So many video's and tips of cutting here and there and also over here in this freq. But like he says if your guitars great at the source HP/LP and a small dip in the harsh freq. That alone made me focus waaaay more on the source and is almost always what I'm doing. Hope you phoenix this blog soon man!
