The most technical voice you'll ever hear

Hey Droogies,
Zak again... I'm lucky to be online since I pulled my right arm at work so I can't practise that much.
Anyways just dropping by to show you something that'll make you go :OMG: .
This is a pop singer from my parents homeland, Yugoslavia and this song is not only one of the oldest Yugoslav songs ever (700 years old), it's really hard to do. I am very familiar with the song since I've heard it from birth.
I thought she wouldn't be capable of doing it, but she shredded it up and owned it. This will definately make Warrel quiver lol.
Check it out and tell me what you think.

PS It's in old Macedonian so I can barely understand it to lol... There is a translation on the YouTube page so let me know if you want to know the translation

Yeah, I know she's cute...That's why she's a popstar lol. Her music is pretty awful to say the least but I do have a new found respect for her technique.
I'm glad you enjoyed it and in my opinion, that's the best version/interperatation of the song I've heard... and I've heard about 50 versions lol.
I guess it can be a little bit of inspiration for budding young singers out there lol.
I'm surprised that someone even bothered so, kudos to you buddy. :kickass:

I actually know how to play this on guitar but there's a lot of stuff you have to concerntrate on.... If you play the song like a guitarist, it'll sound like the biggest piece of crap ever. It sounds crappy with gain so I'd use a clean channel... A lot of legato, trills, grace notes and vibrato going on.
I emphasize the vibrato like trills and grace notes as well, like she is on vocals...It takes heaps of work but is sooo effective once you have it down.
As for Balkan Music Liverslapper, it's basically muic from the Balkans eg. Serbia, Bosnia, Macedonia, Croatia etc. This song is Macedonian and is considered to be their national anthem when it's not lol.
Macedonian music is easily the most complex in the world....It makes Necrophagist look like Linkin Park as far as chops lol. Macedonian's rely on odd meter so a lot of 11/16 and 13/8 is used in their songs... Their 4/4/ is 7/8 so you'll never hear a 4/4 in their music.
Steve Vai's music borrows a lot from Macedonian music eg. "Incantation" on the Astoria DVD. The odd meter and note choice is 150% Macedonian approved lol. He has done a lot of stuff with Bulgarian music as well, which is pretty similar.
I am getting a small enemble together for church, playing traditional songs and dance music from the Balkans so I'll post some videos in time so you can see and hear what it sounds like on guitar.
Awesome response :kickass:

cool...
couldnt you record this song for us to hear??????
One... I'm still experimenting on the techniques I mentioned above to make a definitive version.
Two, I'm practising it very slowly atm since I've only recently started over and learning good habits and actually practising etc, so my chops aren't to that speed yet. That's why I'm not on here much, I practise to the point where I fall asleep with the guitar in my hands.
Three, I still have my beginner's set up and I have no recording equipment so that's screwed for this department lol. I do plan on recording sometime, once my technique and theory are up to my standard (really high lol).
Four, from what my improvising tels me, my style is leaning toward a very Balkan direction so if I do a solo album or am in a band, you''ll her it in my playing.
There are a few guitarisrs that've played this music and all of them sound like shit lol. They don't know how to capture either what's written or the feel of the song, which sucks.
