the Motor city gets the first thrax gig now

I read somewhere that this Harpos club is a piece of shit? Now I know, it was this Infernal Combustion article.

Harpo's is a fucking dump. The acoustics sucks ass in that place.
That's why I try to get to Chicago to see Anthrax, much better venues.
Although Anthrax is one of the better 'tuned' bands for that joint.

Detroit needs better places for Metal acts. Kind of limited.

I, having lived in Michigan most of my life, have been to Harpos many times and I was one of the lucky ones never to have had anyone do anything to my car. I waited till my first night in Arizona after driving 4 days/3 nights to move here to have my car stolen for joyriding:ill::erk:. It did provide me one good thing. As I was riding along in the cop car to pick my car up at the towing place that brought it back from the desert, I got to hear him tell me a story of when he was on "cops"o_O

Oh shit, 50 odd miles away and on payday. I always gave Harpo's a bad rap but the last couple of times there it was cool! The parking is easy. Don't park in one of their lots. Park on the side of the road. The last 3X up there I did this and it's out the door and on the highway in five minutes. The acoustics suck in the back of the joint but just fine on the floor. Anyone interested in going HOLLA!

Been there many times and the neighborhood totally sucks(crackhead central). I think the acoustics are fine but I have always been on the floor so who knows? It's kinda funny, one time I went there to see Slayer and as I was pulling off the highway there was this cab on the side of the road just completely on fire. I was like "Ohh so the crackheads have RPG's now, how nice."

I think it only sounds good in Harpo's if you are on the floor. Then, you have to look up to see the band on the 7-foot tall stage. I might go though...it's only 4 hours.
