See, I don't want to even come close to telling people what they should and shouldn't say. That's up to them and how they want to be perceived. I just personally don't feel comfortable using such a loaded word.Agree. It's meaning is still bad and shouldn't be used.

Just curious, do you happen to prefer the term "african american" over "black"? I hate saying "african american" because it's inaccurate (i.e. the purpose of most expressions of that type is to describe immigrants), cumbersome and imo one of the most ridiculous instances of political correctness in the books.
I think African-American is a clumsy term. Could you call a white person from South Africa who immigrates to America an African-American? What about an Egyptian, Libyan, or Algerian who lives in America? Also, most blacks in America are, to use an outdated term, mulatto.
Damn near everyone who's a black American who didn't immigrate from Africa has some white ancestry.
I don't use it, no need to really. I also hate discussing using it with white people.
