The New Album Thread

Where does one go to find that sampler?

I'm guessing, but you probably can't get them anymore. If my memory serves me correctly, the staff were only allowing people to take one this past ProgPower. IMO, overall, the sampler was the best one yet. It was 3 disc full of really good music. I was able to discover a few new names from it.

The hard part is over!! At least for me...

FINALLY all the writing is complete, including one song I've been writing for a year or more. I was starting to think I'd never be able to say that! We're all really happy with the way everything has turned out. The next step is learning/rehearsing the newest material, and then we'll track all the drums in one fell swoop on Shawn's nice new kit. I can't wait! Don't get me wrong, we have a fair bit of stuff recorded already, but now that the writing's done we can really concentrate and start to hit it hard.

We have a tracklisting ready, and we have 4 songs either partially or totally written that will go on album #3, so writing-wise we already have a big headstart on that album as well. :headbang:

I'm just so excited to finally be done writing...I can't even quite believe it's real! :Spin:

Can't wait for you all to hear the album!

I'm even more excited now. There are many days when I'm sitting, wondering when the new album will be complete. Great Job. :headbang:

Wow awesome, Great job Matt and the theocracy Guys! Can't wait to hear the finished product, i think its probably my most anticipated album (ever since hearing the debut:loco: )

God Bless You Guys
Anthony

That's awesome Matt.

-I dont know though. It's like I'm glad the new album is comming along, but now I'm anxious. And way to go on getting a head start on the 3rd album. I recall you saying how you didn't want to end up being on of those bands who only comes out with one album and tons of christmas songs.

Can wait... You guys are doing a good work. No doubt, God is being glorified through your music. Keep on, Keep on.

OK, this thread has been dead too long. If for no other reason than to get it back to the top of the list, I have to ask:

Any new news?

I think Matt is thinking too much in periods ;) Writing, recording, mixing, design cover. And then the CD needs to be sold, the websites undergoes a redesign and suddenly there's a lot of activity on the forum and stuff. So just wait patiently until the next period is reached ;-)

Hint, mix your activities a little more. For example there's a dead link on your websites for many months: frontpage: http://theocracymusic.com/theocracy_movie_high.wmv

Hi! Just a quick note to say that I absolutely love Matt and Co. and have been praying for you guys. God has really blessed me through your music, and I can't wait to hear t3h n3w album! Take your time, though. Don't get too overwhelmed.

In Christ,

Wow, it's been awhile, huh?

Sorry for the lack of updates. Life has been crazy lately in so many
ways. Recording is going very well and we've made a lot of progress. I
was hoping to be able to shoot for the end of March as a goal for being
completely done with recording, but that's not going to be possible now
because of various factors (started a new job, selling/buying a couple of
final pieces for the studio, etc.), but hopefully it will not be much longer
than that. Guitars and bass are almost totally done, and some of the
drums and vocals are done (we had to record a lot of this stuff out of the traditional order for various reasons). I just wanted to pop in here and let you know
that I'm still working hard.

I have to say, when I listen to stuff from this new album, it sounds to me
like there has been closer to, say, 5 years between the two albums instead of 2 years.
I hear so much development in all areas, which is very cool. I'm not
saying it's "better" than the first album, as you'll never hear me say
that because that's impossible for me to judge. The old cliche' about a musician's albums being like his children is very true. No matter how good or bad the new album is, it won't have "The Serpent's Kiss" or "Twist of Fate", etc. So I can't say what's better, I can just say that the execution, production, singing, etc. on this new one is taken to a new level beyond the first album, as it should be 2 or 3 years down the line. But of course it all comes down to the songs, and I couldn't be happier on that front.

There are other developments in the Theocracy world as well, but we'll cover all that when the time is right. In the meantime, we'll be plugging away, because I really want to buckle down and get this done in the next month or two to give plenty of time before ProgPower for things like artwork, label negotiations, etc.
So stay tuned...the updates may be few and far between, but rest assured that the album will be done before you know it.

Thanks,
