The new chat thread - now with bitter arguing

Congratulations and good luck so that everything keeps going fine. And have fun whining.

Random surgery sounds very "back alley" to me. You should double-check and make sure you still have both your kidneys.

It's ok if you whine, I won't be there to hear it.

oh, and a good and prompt recovery to you.

@suwat: That's why it's called a back alley. But don't worry, it's really hard to remove your kidney through your ass.

According to Hits Daily Double (the companion web site of music industry tip sheet HITS), Australian hard-rock legends AC/DC have sold 7 million physical albums in the U.S. between 2004 and 2007, more than the combined physical and digital totals of PINK FLOYD (6 million), THE EAGLES (5.1 million), THE ROLLING STONES (4.9 million) or LED ZEPPELIN (4.7 million). By comparison, THE BEATLES have sold 8 million CDs during the same period.

"Like THE BEATLES, AC/DC has yet to make its catalog available online, leading to the unanswerable question of how much, if it all, the iTunes boycott has benefited the band’s overall sales."

Funny how we wrote the same word in two different threads at the same time.

Btw, I hate the customs office currently. I also had laws that are meant to protect customers, but have unforeseen sideeffects.

Great minds think alike ;)

As far as the latter part of your post is concerned, what package of yours did they loose? Because I'm pretty sure human trafficking is illegal and you might have to hire a butler instead of purchasing one.

Ignore those politically incorrect overtones please.

Nah, I was just ordering a bride from Russia and she got damaged during customs.

I ordered shisha/hookah/nargile/whateveryoucallit tobacco from the US and I think they are charging me too much. The reason I cannot buy that tobacco in Germany is a law made for the protection of pipe smokers that affects shisha tobacco negatively. The politicians who made the law (it is about maximum moisture in the tobacco, pipes need low moisture, shishas high moisture) just did not see or care the effect on shisha smokers. Thus the tobacco here is of lower quality because it is has to be too dry.

No, they are all German. I am currently looking for an online shop in the EU which sells good tobacco brands (which is a lot harder than finding one that sells any shisha tobacco).
Growing my own tobacco is too much work, would take months before I can smoke any of it and I could not be sure of the quality of the outcome for months. Maybe I will try buying tobaccoleaves and then processing them myself. Or I will continue searching the internet for a good shop.

Richard Wright, a founding member of the rock group Pink Floyd, died Monday. He was 65.
Pink Floyd's spokesman Doug Wright, who is not related to the artist, said Wright died after a battle with cancer at his home in Britain. He says the band member's family did not want to give more details about his death

there are french websites that sell shisha tobacco, this for example, but you'd have to understand french because there is no english translation.

i have no idea if the shops are good or not, because i dont smoke and so i never bought anything there.
the site i gave seems somehow weird, firefox indicates me that the server is in india, but the shop gives us an american address and the site is in french. The shipping is expensive, you cant order for less than 30 euros and you need a credit card... i dont think I'd trust that

i have read that buying tobacco online in the EU is actually illegal, i dont know if that's true.

My cat died this week, she was 11 and had been sick for a while now. The cat was at my parents so i didnt get to see her much lately, but it is weird that the next time i will go there, there wont be any cat to play with.

I'm very sorry, DS. I give you this, an old classic:

"I meant", said Ipslore, bitterly, "what is there in this world that makes living worth while?"
Death thought about it.
CATS, he said eventually. CATS ARE NICE.
