Do you actually read what I post, or do you just see a post by me and try and pick it apart every chance you get? Yes, I am aware that solid and patchy mean almost the opposite of each other, which is why I pointed it out. While the quality in the songs is inconsistent, with there being excellent material and average material, the album still managed to be fairly solid all around to actually listen to. By this I mean every song is still listen-to-able (except When The Eagle Cries), and enjoyable, even though some are much weaker than others. "fairly solild album despite being patchy". It can't be solid and patchy. Solid means consistant, patchy means inconsistant.
