The New Iced Earth has possibly the worst lyrics ever

What's on the Gettysberg DVD? One long patriotic cheesy video clip? coz that's what i'm expecting!! The trilogy is cool, but the dvd might be cheesy

Hollow Man sucks. There's a few decent songs on the rest of the album.... But some of em are just bad!

Its supposedly going to have a documentary on Gettysburg, the three songs in surround sound 5.1, and the 2 video clips they did (The Reckoning and When The Eagle Cries). I think there will be more than that though, as everything Jon puts out is pretty good value for money.

Except for "The Glorious Burden".
I think it was worth the money actually. Its still IEs worst album though. actually meant that you get a lot of stuff for the price you pay, Days Of Purgatory is 2cds, Dark Genesis was 5 cds, plus a hardback book, Alive In Athens was 3cds etc. :)

Expensive, but well worth it! :) The Stormrider/Debut album stuff especially is fantastic :headbang:

Spawn is right, the early material on Alive In Athens fucking RIPS. It really shows how good those songs are. My favourite though, is the live version of 'Colors' on the Melancholy EP, I can't believe they didn't include that on AIA. It is played like 60 times faster and Barlow sounds fantastic. One of the best live performances I have ever heard. Another favourite is the track 'Iced Earth'. Awesome.

Angels Holocaust and Travel In Stygian also sound awesome, and of course Dantes Inferno is even better live than on the cd :headbang:

I like the live version better, both are great though. Also, I cant believe I forgot Violate! How awesome is the version on AIA? :headbang:

Sounds like I have to get Alive in Athens sometime. It's on my mental list. Perhaps if IE were to go back there they'd finish their fucking stadia on time.

Listened to Horror Show for the first time in a while yesterday. I reckon it's pretty solid actually. The first and last songs are awesome. How quick are Richard's feet in Wolf? Top stuff.

Dantes rocks on the Athens version.. sounds a little more aggressive, in a good way!
Dracula and phantom from horror show are pretty cool.. phantom is great, actually!

I think Horror Show is more solid than The Glorious Burden, but TGB has some better stuff on it.

That brings up a question I was going to ask the other day, Spawn, you said that the success of Demons And Wizards was the worst thing to happen to Iced Earth, yet Horror Show is your favourite Iced Earth album, which came after Demons And Wizards? I see what you were saying, I just found that interesting.

Frankenstein is one of my favourite tracks from HS, I always mention it. :)

The Phantom Opera Ghost is my favourite song from the album though, one of IE's best. Brilliant.

Your right about Violate, that is another absolute ripper on AIA, as is Vengeance Is Mine. :headbang:

Yes but Horror Show is pretty much IEs heaviest album, on a par with Dantes anyway. Plus the acoustic influence from D&W is pretty cool, the album as a whole is really dark and not fruity and power metally :)

TGB on the other hand has stupid lyrics for the most part, pretty much the worst ballads ever written and operatic high singing choruses in a lot of the songs.

I shall leave it up to you to work out which had the worst influence from D&W...

Horror Show absolutely destroys TGB. If im being brutally honest, Attila and Red Baron are the only 2 GREAT tracks on TGB (Atilla is one of my favourite IE songs actually!), Gettysburg is ok, but its boring in parts, its not a bad song though, just nowhere near any of IEs other trilogies and the rest is either ok filler (Declaration Day, Valley Forge) or CRAP (Greenface, WTEC, Hollow Man) :)

Though I should say TGB was worth the money I paid for it for the Gettysburg trilogy, Red Baron and Attila.
