Who has it? What do you think? Where did you get it?

I looked at ordering it form Century Media (distributor for Nuclear Blast), but the price with tax and shipping was almost $16.

I also heard their new single. YUK!!!

All those clean vocals suck! This stuff is NOTHING like The Great Deciever. They are getting terribly close to pure nu-metal.

I sort of want to buy it (cheap) to review it for UM. I will get a big kick out of all the responses.

What clean vocals? I must have yanked the CD out the stereo before it even got to that song.

Similarities to The Great Deceiver is meant by the fact that it's all mallcore nowadays. There's a definite SHARED target audience.

Anyway, who cares when it's all shit. This is hardly music anyone will be care about in ten years from now - I guess that's why they call it a fad.

The album could use a good trashing...I have no idea why In Flames are continuing to go in this direction, I doubt they're winning that many fans. At this point, the requisite halfassed "back to our roots" maneuver is only an album or two away.

I ought to kick JayKeeley's dick off for talking shit about The Great Deciever. He's obviously gay now.

Russell: I'll probably buy In Flames either way. No need to send me a copy . . . and who the hell is Paddy.

The Great Deceiver, mallcore? Am I reading this correctly?
Yeah, I thought you said The Great Deceiver was hardcore?

There is NO correlation between The Great Deciever and In Flames.
Gotta love that subjectivity, especially when I'm the only one on this forum that's heard both albums in their entirety.

We have prevailed in making JayKeeley cranky.

A correction on my part:
The Great Deciever sounds nothing like the one song off the new In Flames album that I've heard or any other song In Flames has ever done in the past.

Exactly. I specifically made the comparison to Soundtrack to your Escape, not anything before that in the In Flames catalog - not even R2R. When you hear the full album, you'll probably not find it too surprising that fans of one will probably like the other.

I don't care if someone doesn't like the same music as me. I mean, not everyone can have good tastes in music like myself, but to compare The Great Deceiver and In Flames as similar is like saying Blind Guardian reminds me of Aborym.

Well, I haven't heard either, but The Great Deceiver's first album (the debut EP went unnoticed) was not highly lauded by metal fans. It is -core after all. The only metal fans that will probably like it are the Lindberg fanboys or the Swedish metal fanboys OMGs!
