If it is as good as I'm expecting it to be, I'll fucking eat your fat head and have it at you.. I mean, judging from In Your Face, it's definitely not shit, even if it is a bit boring sometimes, it's better than being outright fucking stupid.
And what comes to all this commerciality theory.. Imagine a really good band making 10 albums during their career, and nobody knows of them because they're so hard to get into. And then their last album is easy to get into, and only then will people start knowing and respecting them. It's probably wise to do this at an earlier point. Honestly only the newest CoB is such which can be presented to people who listen to various types of music, you can't make them listen a fucking weirdo song that you discover great after a hundred listens.
I bought Follow the Reaper album in 2001 by the looks of the cover, it seemed interesting (I was a kid). I went home, gave it a listen and thought this shit sucks. I thought there was probably something about the first three songs but didn't really respect it. Next new year a couple of buddies came to party to our place and we played music with the stereos, and they discovered FtR and said Hey, this shit's fucking good! and fed it to the player and I was like oh no, and they played it maximum volume and I thought what the hell are they doing. The next summer we went to our summer house to drink and party and the first song my friend played was Follow the Reaper. Real party feel to it you know. I still thought it was shit, but during the night I realized it was actually pretty nice party music. Then it started to beat in me more within time. Then in 2003 winter a friend burned me HCDR and I gave it a listen at home. Particularly Bodom Beach Terror struck me, and the Angels Don't Kill melody and Needled 24/7 to some extent. Next I got Tokyo Warhearts, and I thought the melody in the second song (Silent Night, Bodom Night) was surprizing and impressive, also the Lake Bodom melody. Then I slowly became a big fan and I bought the first two CDs.. And now I've been waiting for AYDY ever since I started thinking when would there be a new album, for over a year now I guess, as I was waiting for T,L&S for a long time and then the album was set to come at winter, so I just waited, then it got delayed until spring, then summer, and then fall.. and it's 66 hours away now.
