I just downloaded Prophecy by Soulfly, and I am frankly amazed at how good it is. It is not Roots part 5. Max has finally made a record much better than what his former band Sepultura released (roorback). Its not nu metal, and it has a hell of alot of interesting influences, especially the flamenco guitar, hell there are a number of solos. Ellefson is wonderful on the tracks he plays on. Well i was just wondering what everyone else thought about it, because I was very surprised, as I really dont care at all for soulfly's previous material.

No it really is decent. I am shocked as well. It meanders in a number of different directions, but I actually dont mind as before every soulfly song sounded the same- and thus I never made it through more than two songs in one sitting.

I heard a little bit of it today, some of it is a return to Chaos A.D.-style Sepultura, while some of the later tracks are off in other forms of music. I'd be willing to give it a full listen.
