A threat to our allies (Japan and korea) and possibly our new #1 trade partner in a few decades in China makes this an essential threat to us in those terms. North Korea existing is a threat to the values and ideals represented by our international doctrine in the 20th century and why the world is a better place with us there.

Thankfully China loves the almighty dollar more than they love being red now so I expect nothing ridiculous outside of words to happen and somehow Trump looks good on something outside of hiring Mattis and shitting on socialism st the UN

yes, but i was talking more along the lines of the "THEY'RE GOING TO NUKE US" threat that keeps getting pushed out hear. Will never happen, even if they had the capability.

And they will NEVER be a threat to China(the country that basically controls their economy and feeds them. 77% of their imports and 76% of their exports). Without China they are nothing.

I honestly think North Korea is desperate and putting on a show to make the UN think that have nukes. I don't believe they do and think it's hype. They claim to have miniaturized nuclear warheads but they're not the first desperate 3rd world country to bluff about going nuclear. Cutting off their resources has been the collective decision

It's hilarious how Clinton, W, and Obama all got a pass on NK's gradually developing nuclear capabilities but now everything involving that is Trump's fault.

I don't know, but I'm not president.

I'm inclined to say that actively goading a country with an unstable leader and one of the most closely-controlled media engines in the world isn't the best policy procedure at this moment.

The reason Trump appeals to so many people is that he embodies the notion that anyone can be president. You don't need to be smart or intellectual--just be you, and you can do it! That's what Trump's doing. Might equals right.

Unfortunately, not just anyone should be president. Including me.

Couldn't he do that without also goading NK into a violent conflict? If they feel like they have the least to lose... I'm no foreign policy expert, but I do not understand the logic behind his comments. It looks like a spitting match to me.
