Went to an open house for this amazing facility:

All the gear was mostly gone although the SSL was still there under a tarp. Lots of other potential tenants talking about knocking down this wall or building out this and that. :( Really sad actually.

There's no way we could afford the rent to sustain a place like that but I wish it could be saved somehow...Absolutely beautiful sounding live room.

The music business here just can't sustain a music making place like that. Especially in our genre people aren't going to pay 200% more for what they might perceive as a 5-10% improvement in the final product.

Unfortunate but well that's the way it is for right now I guess!

Man that sucks. I absolutely love those places and can readily rent them in Nashville but outside the area, it's just not a business model that can stand up today. Heck, even in Nashville they barely break even. I hate that a place as beautiful as that is going under because at the end of the day, nobody in their house can touch a room made like that.

Yeah, cultural center of the universe, apparently.

There is one other nice studio that I know of. Not as nice, no SSL but still a very expensive custom large live room. They get by doing classes and mostly post production / voice-over work from what I understand, not a lot of music.
