The non-metal thread

I think I actually listen more to non-metal stuff than metal nowadays... Some of my all-time-favourites are Depeche Mode and Nick Cave among others ofcourse. Plus I truly admire people like Glen Campbell, Scott Walker (only heard one album plus song or two, though) and Dusty Springfield.

A lot of artists I forgot (too early in the morning...)

Have you heard one swedish band called Drain? They're almost the female-version of Alice in Chains with similar melodies and such. Still a good band, atleast their debut album.

yeah their first album had very good songs. i like that one called 'stench', i think it's the 5th one on the CD, brilliant song.

It depends on the mood I'm in:

Nick Cave, Tori Amos, Arid , Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Portishead, Hooverphonic, 16 Horsepower, Danzig, Ministry, Misfits, Alice in Chains, Santana ,F. Zappa, Sisters Of Mercy, Dick Dale, 50 foot Combo,'t Hof van Commerce,Faithless, Moby ...

and of course all kinds of metal (but that was not the question)

Yeah, i know, everyone is obsessed with this crap...
The more stupid and brainless is a song the more popular it gets... And there's this image again: "Forget about your minor problems, we can all dance together and have fun!!! :dopey: " Well, f@#&^ck off!!! Who said i must forget my worries??? Media have ''forgotten'' our worries, our daily jobs have ''forgotten'' our worries, the whole society seems sleeping voluntarily...I won't also allow my music become cheap brainless crap...or as John has said better: ''Bring that pain right back again, it is all there is for me...''

well said man, we all know that whole MTV crap destroying our brain day by day. They hide their worries, they hide their faces, their thoughts. And all their lives are so good and they're happy all the day, having one big party. And why do they hide all those stuff? Because our society made us like this, don't feel like shit, cause then you are shit. You're right, fuck'em all.
this makes me sad...., sorry, i'm overreacting. It's not my day.
seems as if this going to be the new "anger thread" :)

this world is eating me inside...........

cheers
