I've been using Google Earth for the past 2 weeks or so: http://earth.google.com/
it's a program that uses the google maps images but you can pretty much pan/tilt/zoom/rotate the whole planet, and do a whole bunch of other stuff like have it "drive" over directions for you. i love it.
