There are approximately 4823 Death Metal bands that are more enjoyable than Cannibal Corpse. Not bad, but pretty much the definition of "nothing to write home about."
No band deserves their own thread, that's why we have specific genre threads... discuss them there... though I don't think anyone will care.
That said, Barnes is better than Corpsegrinder.

they are hardly my favorite dm band, in fact i cant remember the last time i listened to them. but who exactly rates them so highly? all i ever see are people bashing the band. granted, every band has its diehards, but as far as UM goes, CC is never mentioned in the "Best DM Albums" type threads. so again, how exactly is this band overrated?

Listened to the new one on my way home, it was pretty meh. First 5 songs I basically just skipped cause they bored me. 6 and 7 were decent, thats as far as I got.
I like Cannibal Corpse, Chris Barnes is their best vocalist and so is the material when he was on vocals, but Cannibal Corpse still makes good music today, I will get Evisceration Plague soon.
