RichMinerva's thread about BM Guitars and being a lefty got me to thinking we should have a thread for lefties, to share info about good left handed instruments and parts, and where they can be brought.

Let's celebrate being lefties!

Don't get me wrong I love my guitar (ec-1000) but I really would like a nice 7 string that isn't a chunky schecter :(

IMHO the only way to get a real good lefthanded instrument is to get a custom guitar.
i am more into simple guitars, i do not need fancy finishes, bindings etc. so if you can live with
that you can a great instrument for a warrantable amount of money.

sure you can also spend 2+ grand and get an ESP, music man which are real good guitars but
in this price range you can always get a custom again.

if you live in the USA drum city guitarland has some really nice stuff, and the good thing is, most of the instruments are IN STOCK. the also have ESP guitars for example.
to get an lefty ESP in a reglular way you'll have to wait about 12-18 months.

Eu based bro :(

that's a hard one, at least here in germany there's no
way to get a 7-string that is not a schecter

i'd go for a local or at least a luthier that lives in your country
as it makes communication much more comfortable :D

when i ordered my mayones (poland) there were a
few issues in communication, i had a very nice email
contact with one of the mayones guys but the store
i ordered it through fucked it up completely, so at the end
the guitar i got was not exactly the guitar i ordered
(they threw in a wrong bridge pickup)

there were also a few other issues, the nut was not but right,
the bridge saddles were wrong and the output jack was DOA.

the store i ordered it through did not want to fix it, they just said, send it back to poland then and we'll see. damn i paid 2 grand for this one and they told me that every case of warranty will be executed by the shop itself, so they just fooled me. i was a long time loyal customer btw.

they also have EXACTLY my guitar in stock again for a year or so,
this proves my theory that the "music store köln" guys just fucked
up my order.

i ended up fixing ecverything by myself which
came out with about 400€ extra costs.

still the mayones is a fantastic guitar, guess it was just bad luck
at it's best for me :(

there was also an UK guy who made awesome looking axes, with devil and biblical themes printed on the wood, do not remember the name but there were looking killer and he preferably made 7-strings IIRC. you can also aks STINNETT for a custom quote.

cheers

I've looked at importing an Agile guitar before since they have a good range of instruments, but it all depends on how much customs sting you for them. But I guess even so like £700-£800 for a top of the range Agile is still a pretty good deal.

Agreed, I always find they don't do the best looking ones left handed though haha :)
