It's not his drum sound though, it's just the samples he uses. Like one of the kicks I can tell you with pretty damn near total certainty is just a sandwich of Death Kick and Rock Head from the one-shots that are floating around as "his." I just don't know what happened with the package; even the cymbals are unusable IMO.

Is the Staub library any good for blending (direct and room tracks, mainly interested in his snares)?

Here's a quick test I did with the Rock Solid EZX. I loaded it up in SD2 and blended in a kick and snare sample from the Metal Machine EZX and used the "Splat" snare fx preset for the MM Snare and the "Muscle" kick fx preset for the MM kick.
Other than that, there is VCC on the stereo drum channel and the master bus and NI Enchanced EQ and VariComp on the master bus.
