I don't have anything else to say, I just felt this amp is worthy of its own proper thread.

Gotta say I really like mine, still wanna pick up a 6505 at some point (along with a shedload of other amps) but for an aggressive rectifier-esque sound for alot less money I don't think the XXX can be beat.

Only complaint is the ridiculous amount of gain on offer! I have to bring down the level on my tubescreamer to make it a bit more useable. Otherwise it never goes above 8 o'clock!

I love my XXX as well...The more I record with it, the better I like it.

Just did some tracking tonight with it and it turned out pretty well for a quick demo for my band. Blended it with my 6505+.

I own a xxx and fucking love it. It's a very sensitive beast but if you get the knobs turned just so it rules.

I still haven't had a chance to try mine on a good 4x12. Amazing how much gain the XXX has. Good gain, too. I wonder if mine was modded. I bought it $450 used.

Also, funny how sensitive the knobs are, especially the high end.

A 12AT7 in all preamp and phase inverter spots tames everything a bit... The knobs get more 'useful' and the gain gets much less fizzy...
