The pics thread

I wasn't at that show, but the one in Düsseldorf on March 21, 1990 - it must have been the same tour. It was the first and - unfortunately - so far only time I saw these bands live. They should do another tour together.
Awesome! I saw Coroner on the Grin tour supporting Annihilator in 93.

I cut it off, but had to get a pic

Coroner playing "Masked Jackal" a few days ago at the Rock Hard Festival:

And this was the entire playlist:

I hope they'll put the entire concert online, though this might take a few weeks.
Good to see they’ve worked a few more from the earlier albums into the set, I saw them 3-4 years ago and they almost exclusively played songs off Grin and Mental Vortex.

Went to Bonn with the polish girl because she wanted to check out the museum, Haus der Geschichte. I was pleasantly surprised with how pretty a little city Bonn was.

Beethovenhaus. There happened to be a free tour when we were there, so we took part. It sucked and I'm guessing partly because it was the English language tour and the tour lady was less than fluent. We ended up ditching and polish girl then had to listen to my musicology lecture.

Haus der Geschichte was a pretty damn good museum, and that's coming from someone who, despite the fact I study history, usually finds museums underwhelming. The old political posters were probably my favorite part. This was my favorite and it makes me want to hop on a train back to the second home.

It also happened to be polish girl's birthday, so celebrations were in order afterward. We had some train drama, with our train to Cologne running a half hour late and the last direct train from Cologne to Münster being cancelled. Almost stayed the night in either Cologne or Düsseldorf, but decided to take a longer train with connections and get drunk along the way before hitting clubs. Pickings were slim as she wasn't interested in beer or wine, and we were relying on train station liquor. In any case, poles never fail to impress me with their drinking. Here's me looking like a pretty little bottom.

Definitely interested in a duty station in Germany if the AF is obliged. Could brush back up on my shitty german and pretend those 4 classes were worth it. Oh, and see all the excellent, old, and quaint architecture.

Germany's great. I have to admit that it's going to be hard to leave, especially after spending next year here as well. Fortunately for the homeland, I couldn't live the rest of my life with this bland ass food. I miss gumbo, Maryland seafood, and proper mexican food way too much.

You miss what?? :tickled:

I had to google fucking Gumbo.

EDIT: But other than that, there's no Mexican places where you are in Germany?

There are Mexican joints here and I've tried about 5 or 6 different places, and everyone of them has been one of the top 5 or 6 most pathetic, blandest attempts at Mexican food I've ever tried. I'm guessing this phenomenon isn't unique to Germany. A buddy of mine here is from Arizona, and we like to joke that we love Mexican food so much that we're always up for disappointing ourselves (by giving these pathetic attempts a second chance). The seasoning are always way off, the tortillas aren't right, the meat preparation is odd, they have no god damn proper hot sauce, and they use Gouda cheese! Monstrosities all.

But yes, beer heaven. Getting ready to work off a hangover with some public drinking and grilling in the park here shortly.
